The history of the World of Warcraft is full of its events, heroes and adventures. Many races, two factions, constant wars with demons or with each other, splits, ups and downs - all these players could watch on their screens. This is a story in which a high elf betrayed his congeners, a man became the leader of the lash, and an ordinary orc became the leader of the whole Horde.
The beginning of the story
Now I would like to tell a little about the history of the high elves. These creatures appeared in Azeroth since time immemorial, when people did not exist. The love of magic, the preservation of ancient traditions, as well as power - this is what distinguished the high elves. Warcraft painted their fate quite interestingly, even tragically.
First war
When the demons first invaded Azeroth, humans still did not exist. Only the most successful and strongest of all races could take the blow of the powerful army of the Burning Legion. And these were the elves. But all would be so if they had not called the demons themselves. Yes, Queen Azshara allowed the army of Sargeras to enter this world, blinded by its grandeur. As a portal, they used the Well of Eternity, a powerful source of the magic of that world. The main blow was taken by Kaldorei, the lower elves, who immediately saw the danger and desire to destroy this world in the Legion. Among the leaders of the resistance army are Illidan, Malfurion, Tyrande and other races who responded to the call to protect their home.
Supreme traitors
Queen Azshara, the high elf Xavius ββand many other highborne, as they began to call them, betrayed their world and began to fight on the side of the demons. Of course, not all of them agreed to this, and even their heroes were found among them. Fortunately, the demons lost the war, and many of the high elves sank with their former capital after the great schism. Some remained faithful to their brethren, others were driven out in disgrace, and they went to the Eastern Kingdoms.
Further story
Many interesting things happened to this race, even before the story told to us in the game "Warcraft 3". The high elves embarked on the path of truth, joined the Alliance, fought against the ferocious trolls, helped people in the first war with the orcs, and even contributed to the fight against demons.
But once again, history decided to turn them in a different direction. Former highborne decided to break off their ties with the Alliance and Lordaeron, and did so at the wrong time, because it was at that time that the fall of the great Prince Arthas Menethil began. The former paladin and servant of the light became the leader of the lash, driven by the ghostly call of the Ice Blade and Ner'zhul, who placed a piece of his soul in it.
Arthas needed the Sunwell, which the elves built in their capital to resurrect a powerful magician. Peopleβs armies did not help their former allies and King Lich managed to achieve his goal, and at the same time arrange a real bloody massacre, many high elves were killed. Warcraft 3 generally dealt a serious blow to this race.
The few who fled were divided: someone decided to take the position of peace and, united with the armies of the Horde and the Alliance, crush the Scourge. Someone was led by the high elf, Prince Quel'Thas. His desire to avenge the whole world for what happened was not a testimony of nobility, but his race had once been a traitor, and therefore many agreed to his sinister plan. It was thanks to him that a new race appeared in the world - the Blood Elves, they penetrated so deeply into the magic of demons that they involuntarily began to exude it. After such a turn, the prince was called a traitor and tried to erase him from history.
World of Warcraft events
In the famous WoW game, all events are also reflected, moreover, there is an opportunity to storm the last stronghold with a group of the same heroes, which was built for himself by the high elf Quel'Thas. In this game, this race cannot be selected by the player. Blood Elves are available , not higher ones, and this is easy to explain. Too few of them remain, they do not have their own capital, and their history and current status are trampled into the mud for many more years. However, in the game you can get many tasks related to this once powerful people. For example, you may be asked to get high elf blood. Moreover, all over Azeroth you can find their heritage, including the numerous ruins that remained on the site of the former capital after the War of the Ancients. Some of the highborne adopted a different fate, and now they are called naga.
