Choose a place
The best place where a myrtle houseplant will feel good is a windowsill with an oriental, southern or northern orientation or a glazed balcony. It perfectly tolerates drafts and under such conditions it intensively gives off volatile products that clean the air in the room. Since this is a subtropic plant, it is desirable to keep the temperature regime in the region of +5 ... + 11 ° C. However, in winter it will also withstand zero temperature, and in the summer - up to +40 ° C.
Care
Myrtle plant care requires daily. He needs a lot of light, the flower perfectly transfers midday hours without shading. Thanks to constant attention, it is possible to achieve its fast flowering. In summer, the plant needs frequent spraying, and in winter try to keep it away from heating appliances. Watering the plant should be moderate, do not allow the drying of an earthen coma. However, water excess affects the indoor plant myrtle destructively. Therefore, in order to avoid root decay, excess water from the sump must be drained.
Transfer
A myrtle houseplant should be transplanted if necessary (spring-summer) using slightly acidic soil. To do this, you need to add sheet humus and coarse sand to the purchased mixture. Determine the need for a plant transplant, analyzing whether the soil does not dry out when watering the myrtle during the day. If myrtle is damaged by whitefly, mealybug, scabbard and thrips, Aktara treatments are effective once a week for a month or Aktellik treatments that are close to each other (you can combine them). If the plant is affected by a scale insect or mealybug, you can try the mechanical destruction of parasites. To do this, use a small paintbrush dipped in 96% alcohol or 70% alcohol tincture of calendula to wipe all sinuses, shoots and trunk. Such treatment should be carried out as parasites appear. To combat the tick, it is enough to simply spray the plant often on hot days and prevent the earthen coma from drying out, to provide access to bright sunlight.
