Multi-colored roses

Rose is mentioned in the history of ancient Persia. The Persians created about her a very beautiful legend about the nightingale, which is pierced by the thorns of a red flower. And since then this proud plant has been revered as a symbol of love.

However, roses are not only red. Over a long period of existence of these colors on the planet, and this, according to scientists, is 30 or more millions of years, as a result of selection, a huge number of shapes, colors and shades were created.

A lot of effort was spent on getting a black rose, and since it was not possible to get black petals, the scientists reached such a deep burgundy color that it is practically no different from it.

The blue hue did not obey the botanists, but as early as 2009 Japanese ash-blue roses appeared on the market. But since the prices for this genetically modified plant were quite high, they are not particularly popular, contrary to forecasts.

However, the most important place in this list of exotics is occupied by multi-colored roses, representing the entire palette of the rainbow, flowing to the components in the buds of these flowers.

This effect is achieved by implantation into the stem during the growth of paint.

The idea of creating such exotic flowers as colorful roses has long been hovering among breeders, but only Van de Verken, a Dutch-born owner of a small flower shop, managed to realize it.

Only he, through painstaking labor, the process of injecting paint, was able to get the desired color combination.

The idea of the possibility of selling multi-colored roses was born out of a desire to somehow stand out in the already quite crowded flower market. A bouquet of them is more like a box of colorful candies or felt-tip pens than what we are used to seeing or receiving as a gift.

Multi-colored roses are obtained as a result of absorption of the dye into the petals, this is exactly the result of injection. And although at first glance this process may seem simple, however, it requires compliance with many technological processes and preliminary preparation of the plant.

At first, the Dutchman tried to simply spray, but when he did not succeed, he found a more optimal method by which he still managed to bring out multi-colored roses.

And today he is positioning his innovation more as an original gift or element for decorating the decor than the usual flower that is presented in a bouquet.

People differently perceive such flowers with colors unusual for their eyes: some like them, while others, on the contrary, categorically do not accept them, however, Van de Werken himself believes that his creation helps to improve mood. That is why he called the multi-colored roses Happy Flowers - flowers of happiness.

Today, such a multi-colored rose with your own hands can be grown at home. To do this, you need to take a white flower, place it in a vase, where you need to add a little food coloring, which should only color the water. To speed up the coloring process, the tips of the roses need to be trimmed.

The very next day, the first results will be noticeable: little by little, the petals will begin to change their shade.

To get great shades, many amateur breeders cut the tip of the trunk lengthwise into several parts, and then each part is placed in a separate, differently colored vessel. This is how the rainbow effect is achieved.

Today in flower shops you can find purple carnations, blue chrysanthemums, blue dahlias - flowers in the genotype of which there are no such colors. All of them are obtained by artificial staining, thanks to the technology of gradual color change during growth.

However, you can get blue flowers even after cutting them, much faster. To do this, you can already put a plant on a sponge soaked with paint at home, the flower absorbs the color, gradually changing its color.
