Origami crab: two light patterns

Origami is an ancient art of folding a square sheet of paper in order to make figures of an animal, bird or any other object. There are complex crafts available only for experienced craftsmen. In this article, we will consider simple origami options that can be done with a child.

This is a useful lesson that develops logical thinking, attentiveness and accuracy, the ability to act gradually, step by step, according to the scheme. Let's start with a simple origami crab. It is not difficult to do it, the main thing is to bend a square sheet of paper, following the serial numbers in the diagram below in the article.

First circuit

For work, you need to prepare a colored sheet of square shape. Usually the crab is made red or pink. First you need to fold the workpiece in half vertically and horizontally to determine the center lines of the square. Insert your finger into the folded four-piece part and open the pocket so that it makes a triangle.

Do the same from the opposite side. The upper lower corners must be bent back. These will be the hind legs of an origami crab. Bend a thin strip on the upper triangle there. Turn the workpiece over and wrap the edges inward and upward, as in Figure No. 10. It remains to bend the bottom corner so that the body of the crab becomes straight above and below. Correct the paws, and the crab is ready!

Crafts application

Origami crab made of paper can be played if you draw eyes with a marker. Crafts with toy plastic eyes, which can be purchased at a needlework store, look spectacular.

Small figures can be glued onto a piece of cardboard to create a voluminous applique of the seabed or aquarium. They can be used for theatrical productions.

The second option is a simple crab

The first actions are similar to the previous option, that is, you need to fold the square in half: both vertically and horizontally. Then completely unfold the sheet to its original position. Bend each half of the square on the sides even in half, and from the sides, and from above, and from below. Then proceed according to the scheme to complete everything correctly.

All folds must be carefully leveled by rubbing with a finger or a pen. Before finally folding the paper, check that it is folded correctly to prevent excessive dents.

As you can see, making origami a small crab is quite simple, even a child of an older preschool or primary school age can handle it. Try to make a craft with your baby. It is entertaining and helpful. Good luck
