Each person is a master and creator. The energy splashing in us requires a way out. Sometimes it finds its application in creativity and the creation of DIY crafts. DIY paper wallet, newspaper crafts, bags, remodeling men's shirts and jeans. Remaking old furniture and cardboard furniture, fragrances from dough and oils and melting old candles, paintings from nails and scotch tape, flowers made from beads and satin ribbons, using empty plastic bottles and bobbins from scotch tape - there’s no limit to people's imagination. This workshop will tell you how to make a leather wallet with your own hands.
An old leather cowboy boot was used as the starting material for the craft. You can use any other leather material. Or even its substitute. It is completely unprincipled what material is used in the manufacture of the craft: the main thing is that it be ultra-strong. Do-it-yourself wallet is always original and stylish. Who said that you need to spend crazy money to acquire a designer’s creations? You can make a stunning wallet with your own hands.
In order to sew a wallet with your own hands, you will need:
1. As mentioned above - an old leather cowboy boot.
2. Waxed thread.
3. The seam spreader.
4. Awl.
5. The line.
6. Scissors.
7. Needles.
8. Miniature cutter.
9. Manual sewing machine. By the way, this tool was not needed in this master class: they used a regular needle.
Let's get started. We cut off the upper part of the boot and remove plaque, salts and other substances from it.
The best way to clean used material is dishwashing liquid.
After that, we dry in the fresh air for a day.
Using a spreader, remove from the top of the patch.
Then cut the bootleg along the seam and remove the seams and threads.
The result is the following blank for crafts.
Using a ruler and a miniature cutter, we cut out the most homogeneous part of the material (without transitions and inserts).
From the second piece of material we cut two identical blanks for the inside of the craft.
Three leather pieces with the same patterns will be combined into a wonderful wallet. With your own hands, from this material you can sew not only a wallet, but also, if desired, a cover for documents.
Next, with the help of an awl and a ruler around the perimeter of a large piece and on three sides of small pieces, we make holes at a distance of 5 mm from each other. On smaller workpieces, two smaller sides and one large side should be perforated.
So our pieces will look like before the last stage:
In order to make a wallet with your own hands from these pieces, you can use a manual sewing machine or a thread with two needles. In the master class, the second option was used.
In order to create a harmonious and beautiful seam, two needles pass in one hole: first the needle on the right side, then on the left side.
This is the last stage. Nothing complicated, but in the end you get a stylish wallet in the South American style.
From each seemingly unnecessary thing you can make a truly interesting and creative product. Look carefully, maybe in what you are going to throw, it makes sense to breathe a second life?
