The search for the dual pen in Skyrim baffles many players. This item is required to complete the Chase quest from the Thieves Guild, but finding it is not so simple. The artifact itself lies at the bottom of Honrick Lake, and the mark on the map does not lead to it. Therefore, players have to search for a location on their own. Quest start
During the execution of the task of the thieves guild "Chase" your hero will need to visit the Riftveld estate. You can get there only through the back gate, but they are guarded by Wald - the bodyguard of Mercer Frey. Veks will tell you that this character owes Black Heather to Maven, and that he let you through unhindered you need to return the debt.
Pen search
First, head to the Bee and Sting tavern and find the Black Heather in Maven. If you went through the main storyline and gave Riften to the Storm Brothers, then you will find this character in the Jarl castle. The woman will tell that she instructed Wald on the task of transporting goods. But the guard sank the boat, and with it a valuable artifact - a dual feather, which now lies at the bottom of Honrick Lake. And for Maven to forgive Wald's debt, you need to find the item. But the quest mark does not lead to it, which causes difficulties for the players. In fact, everything is simple.
Honrick Lake is the largest body of water located right outside the gates of Riften. To find the artifact, move to the stables and go southwest until you approach the shore. There is a large ship on the lake, sail to it. Having reached the stern, look towards the estate "Goldflower". Near the house is another similar ship. Halfway to it, at the bottom of Honrick Lake, you will find a flooded boat.
Sailing closer, you will see an iron safe, in which the desired artifact is closed. Near the boat there are several clutches with killer fish eggs. Therefore, alchemist players should drink the “Water Breath” potion in order to stay longer under water. The safe is locked in the Master class, so stock up with master keys. Inside you will find the desired artifact, and in addition a small amount of gold.
Job completion
Having taken the dual pen, go to the Maven and return the artifact to it. She will give the receipt, which must be taken to Wald. Go to the rear gate of the Riftveld and wait for the guard to come up and talk to you. If you open the castle before it arrives, the bodyguard will attack you. In this case, you can calm him down with the “Peace” spell.
Give Wald a receipt. In gratitude, he will hand over the keys to the estate and open the back gate. This completes the quest for the dual pen, and you can continue your adventure.
