You can argue endlessly about which beaches are better - sandy or pebble. Probably, these disputes will never cease, since both types of coasts have their zealous supporters. Everyone knows that a broken shell, capable of seriously cutting feet, is not the best beach cover and convenient entry into the sea, but many cannot choose between sand and pebbles. But going to rest in the Crimea, it is important to know which coast you are going to relax on. So, which is better: pebble or sand beaches of Crimea?
Adherents of pebbles claim that small stones make an ideal massage. If unrest occurs at sea, they do not rise from the bottom, and the water remains clear. Pebbles do not fall into the eyes, do not creak on the teeth, and in windy weather the clouds do not fly in the air. Diving enthusiasts have something to see on such rocky shores and there is absolutely nothing to do on a boring and lifeless sandy bottom. And lovers of sandy beaches insist that sand massages the feet no worse than pebbles, there is even a special treatment - psammotherapy. If the pebbles are large, it is inconvenient to lie on it, it is dangerous to walk on it, since you can dislocate your leg. In a storm, a wave can hurt your feet with stones. The beaches of the round ones, as a rule, have a steeper entry into the sea, while the sandy beaches are gentle. And certainly you cannot build castles from sea cobblestones, you will not dig into them, you will not play volleyball on an uncomfortable beach. However, supporters of both camps can reconcile Crimea. Sandy beaches are less common here than pebble ones, but fragments of cliffs caressed by the sea there are tiny, and sometimes wide pebbles of sand can be found on pebble beaches.
The southern coast of Crimea, stretching from Ayia Bay (south of Sevastopol) in the west to Sudak in the east, is mainly famous for its stone beaches. This is explained by the fact that it is surrounded by mountains from the north - these rocks are the main "building material" of local beaches. Especially large and non-rolled debris ashore mountain rivers - you need to be careful in their mouths! But here, sand lovers can find in abundance what they need. These are the so-called pocket sandy beaches of Crimea. The fact is that sometimes the sea also contributes to the construction of the beach and puts tons of "sea dust" from the depths into the tight coves between the rocks. These are heavenly places near Laspi, Batiliman, Ayazma, not far from Balaklava. In fact, between the capes Aya and Ai-Todor, you can, if you wish, find bays with clean sand that are comfortable and hidden from view. Further to the south, such places are found only in stripes among the rocks and in the form of placers east of Alushta: in Soter, Malorechensky, Solnechnogorsk, Rybachy, and Morskoy.
But where in the Crimea sandy beaches stretch for kilometers, it’s in the northwestern and northeastern parts of the peninsula. To the north of Sevastopol, starting from its suburbs (North Side, Mokrousov), the wonderful beaches of Kachi, Orlovka, Uchkuevka, Lyubimovka extend. It is impossible not to mention the sandy beaches of Crimea around the city of Yevpatoriya. The city itself was known as a children's resort solely due to the wonderful sand and healing mud. No less famous places lie to the north of Evpatoria - 2 km of the purest “sugar” in the village of Gromovo, the beaches of Mezhvodnoye, Olenevka, Okunev, Belyaus. South of Yevpatoriya - large sandy and pebble beaches of Beregovoy, Nikolaevka, Peschaniy.
In the west and northwest of the peninsula, the sandy beaches of Crimea also deserve attention. Already from the Quiet Bay near Koktebel, coastal dunes and dunes begin, continuing through Ordzhonikidze to Feodosiya with its famous Golden Beach. North of Feodosia there is also plenty to choose from for lovers to soak up the dunes - Pesochnoe, Zolotoe - the names of the resorts speak for themselves. And there is also Resort, Novootradnoe. This is followed by a short break in the form of a stormy and unpleasant for the rest of the Kerch Bay, and again endless beaches with golden sand continue, but already in the Sea of Azov: Shchelkino, Mysovoe, Arabatskaya arrow
