Mount Sokol in the New World is known to many tourists who have visited the peninsula. It can be seen from afar. This is an ancient coral reef that is now dominated by land. In the wreckage you can see the imprints of sea shells and corals.
At the foot of the majestic mountain passes the only road to the New World. Stones from a huge coral reef fall extremely rarely. However, overhanging drivers are in awe, and they are trying to slip this section of the road faster.
At the foot of the cliff are small bays and several large blocks. They are also called Sokolyata. They seem to hide under the power of their protector.
Mount Sokol, whose height above sea level is 474 m, is the largest coral reef of the Crimean peninsula and the oldest in Europe.
Slopes of the mountain
Mount Sokol (New World) spread out in width by 1 thousand meters, and in length - 1.2 thousand meters. This natural object got its name due to its northeastern appearance. Previously, it sounded like Kush-Kaya. On this side, the mountain resembles a bird that spreads its wings. The ancient Romans called it Senator for an impressive appearance.
The slopes on the south side are steep. If it rains, water rushes down the rock in powerful currents.
At this time, four temporary waterfalls can be observed. They exceed even Wuchang-Su in height. But after the weather ends, the waterfalls immediately disappear.
To climb to the top, you should start the path from the northeast side. Here the slopes are more gentle.
Climbing to the top

About two dozen routes were laid from the south and southwest to the summit. They are characterized by five levels of difficulty. For unprepared people, there is a road through the forest, coming from the New World. From the side of the highway, the path will be more difficult.
The most difficult areas for climbing, accessible only to experienced climbers, are located in the center of the southern slope. They are also called "mirrors." There are no large elements of the mountainous terrain.
The length of the routes is from 150 to 400 m. But you need to prepare responsibly for the ascent.
Climbing recommendations
If the tourist does not have sufficient experience in climbing the peaks, do not choose difficult routes. Even on the safest trails, there is a chance of injury or even just getting lost. Therefore, travel should be taken very seriously.

New trail
Mount Falcon has many trails. One of the most popular for ordinary tourists is the New Trail. It starts from the road going to Sudak, at the place of its sharp turn. On the way, you need to pay attention to the signs.
On the serpentine road there are many beautiful trees and plants. On the paths you can find lizards and birds. Along the way, there are even relict trees that grow only in these lands. Birds such as hawk, falcon, kite and eagle live here.
After an hour (or even more) of advancement, travelers reach the source of St. Anastasia. Here you can take a break and drink cool spring water. This is the middle of the road. Further tracks will be deserted. It is necessary to follow the path so as not to get lost. On this section of the road you can get lost.
Vertex
Mount Sokol offers a unique view from its peak. It is not covered by forest, so it is not difficult to explore the surroundings from here. From the top of the mountain overlooks the vast part of the southern Crimean coast.
