The computer game "World of Tanks" has conquered the world for a long time, offering gamers realistic tank battles in extremely detailed combat vehicles. This means that here you are not just damaging the enemy, taking his health away - it all depends on so many factors, such as armor thickness and penetration of the gun, tilt of the armor plate, the location of the engine in the tank, and so on. Thus, you need to know quite a lot of information in advance in order to understand how to set up and defend your tank, as well as where to aim when attacking an enemy. Naturally, it makes no sense to talk about each combat vehicle - it will take a very long time. Therefore, in this article, attention will be focused on the Soviet IS-3 tank - where to punch, where it is better to aim and so on. All this will be useful to you in battle, regardless of whether you control this tank or attack it. In any case, you need to know these important data about the IS-3. Where to punch this car? Now you will find out about this - the article will consider attacks from a heavy and light gun to the forehead, side and aft, as well as an artillery attack.
Heavy forehead gun
So, it's time to examine in detail the penetration of the IS-3 tank - where to punch this car, which is famous for its good armor? To begin with, it is worth considering one of the most popular situations - when you meet the enemy in the forehead. The fact is that with this model the frontal armor is the most powerful, so even a heavy gun can have problems. That is why the main advice - do not aim at the tower. Of course, the temptation to inflict maximum damage is great, but the thickness of the armor will not allow you to do this, so you need to aim at the bottom sheet of the armor - it can be shot from one shot, at other points you will have to make at least two or three aimed hits before you can to damage. Thus, your task is to try to heal the lower armored plate of the IS-3. Where to break through this tank, if you still find yourself in a more favorable situation and drove to it either from the side or from the rear? Find out now.
Heavy gun on board

Now you know where to punch the IS-3 in the forehead, and this is definitely not very pleasing to you, because breaking through it is extremely difficult. But everything will significantly improve the continuation, since the sides of this tank are much weaker. If you have a heavy cannon, you can safely shoot at any part of the tank if you could call on it from the flank - both the tracks, and the side, and the tower make their way from one shot (in the latter case, naturally, if you aim out the hatch that can be clearly seen for this model). Damage is almost the same everywhere, so it makes no sense to aim hard - just attack until the tank has turned its nose to you and put you in an extremely uncomfortable position. Now you understand the weak point of this tank, you know where to pierce the IS-3. World of Tanks is not an average shooter, it is a tactical simulator in which you have to take into account so many details, and breaking through them is the most important moment.
Heavy stern gun
The question remains - where can I get through the IS-3, if you go to him from the rear? Everything is pretty simple here, because most tanks have feed - this is the weakest point. Therefore, you will almost never have a situation in which you can calmly shoot an enemy tank from the back. But if such a chance is presented, and your opponent is IS-3, then you should avoid hitting the tower, as it is surprisingly well-armored and has a tilt angle unpleasant for the attacker. The best goal is a fuel tank, which can be healed without any problems. Now you know where it is better to penetrate the IS-3, if you have a heavy gun. But what about those tanks that have lower penetration rates? What do they do?
Light forehead gun
Now you need to ask a very important question - where to shoot the IS-3 in order to penetrate its armor from a light gun? Or is it better to just run? In fact, escaping is a good option if you know that your weapon is unable to penetrate 122 mm of the armor of an enemy tank, but there is another way out - you can attack the tracks. After about three hits, you can succeed, but the likelihood that you can make three direct hits on the tracks when the IS-3 looks directly at you is extremely small. And in other ways you will not be able to do forehead damage at all.
Light gun to board
As you already understood, you can easily defeat the IS-3 with a heavy gun on board, but what happens if you have only a light gun? Here, everything is not as bad as it might initially seem, because the side armor is much thinner than on the nose, so you can calmly fire, but do not hope that you can easily break through enemy sheets. Experiments have shown that only every second shot from a light weapon causes damage to the enemy. Naturally, if you have high speed and rate of fire, then you have a good chance to spin the IS-3, while shooting it at the side. But if you get caught in at least one shot, which will reduce your mobility, your chances will be significantly reduced.
Light gun in the stern

Already by a heavy gun it can be judged that an attack from the rear will be very unpleasant for the IS-3, and nothing will change with the transition to a light gun - you can easily break through the stern armor of a tank and cause damage to it. But given the fact that your weapon is not so powerful, and even if it breaks through the armor it will not be able to remove so many health points, it is best to aim at the weak points of the tank. The fuel tank has already been mentioned above, but the IS-3 still has a very unpleasant point approximately in the center of the strip connecting the tower and the lower armor plate. If you manage to precisely aim and get there, then the result will be impressive - the probability of an enemy tank igniting with this outcome is extremely high, and the fire will be able to inflict quite impressive damage, even if the enemy tank crew uses a fire extinguisher. Accordingly, feed is the best place to break through the IS-3, even if you control a light tank, so once you are behind, try to use this opportunity to the fullest.
Artillery
As for artillery, everything is very clear here: you still canβt aim, so the main thing is to get into the tank. As field experiments showed, about five hits are needed to completely destroy the IS-3. Naturally, we are talking exclusively about direct hits, which in the game do not happen so often, because the tanks are in constant motion. However, from a statistical point of view, the IS-3 withstands artillery attacks quite well, since five shots are quite a lot, and it takes time to fire them. Well, now you know where to pierce the IS-3, which means that you can competently control this tank. Or attack it pointwise to destroy it as quickly as possible.
