When they say “container sites”, most often they mean two groups of objects:
- sites specially built for transshipment and storage of transport containers;
- sites on which containers for collecting household waste are placed.
In our article, we will focus on the latter. A garbage container site is necessary in any locality. Therefore, they are quite popular products. Officially, such facilities are called "container sites for the collection of solid waste."
Kinds
When deciding on the deployment on their territory of the necessary number of objects such as container platforms, utilities currently have the opportunity to choose their design. This is due to the fact that manufacturers offer various technical solutions of the latter. The customer can make a choice based on a number of criteria, such as:
- type (open and closed);
- size (for placing two or more containers for collecting solid waste);
- the possibility of placing an additional hopper - drive;
- design of installed containers;
- materials from which container platforms are made;
- the appearance of the sites.
Installation Technology and Key Features
The device of container platforms of various types, in principle, is not too different. All have standard sizes and configurations. As a rule, any of them can be installed both on the ground and on specially prepared (asphalt or concrete) territory. Most often, the structure is fixed by welding its frame to the anchors hammered into the ground (asphalt).
Basically, container platforms are arranged as follows: a frame from a profile pipe with a section of 40x20 or 50x25 mm, on which sheets of galvanized corrugated board are sewn, supplemented in separate structures with a metal mesh, having cells 50x50. Another commonly used material is polycarbonate.
Manufacturers equip container platforms equipped with doors with various decorative elements and rubber aprons on the bottom of the latter. Existence of doors favorably distinguishes platforms of this type. They look more aesthetically pleasing, successfully fit into the courtyard interior. Their contents are not scattered by the wind, animals, birds and rodents. Such designs are fire safe.
At the request of the customer, manufacturers can produce the above-mentioned design of non-standard sizes and configurations.
Garbage containers used at the sites are made of various materials and, depending on the type of special equipment used for the removal of solid waste, may or may not have rollers (withdrawable containers).
Recently, buried containers are becoming more widespread - they have an increased capacity compared to conventional ones and require much less space for their installation. The design of the latter ensures the safety of garbage in the MSW tank, so that the garbage does not spread throughout the yard.
Another innovation that container platforms are currently equipped with is the installation of canopies over the site. They protect containers from moisture, and also perform the functions of an aesthetic order, closing the view of the latter from the upper floors of residential buildings located nearby.
