The hydraulic arrow is a device that is a compensation chamber designed to link the boiler circuits with the heating system as a whole. This mechanism is used in domestic and industrial heating systems. The hydraulic needle normalizes the temperature difference between the two circuits for a single flow.
Purpose and functions
Most often, this tool is mounted in cascade connection systems for boilers. This mechanism reduces the risk of fluctuations in the flow of the circuit from the thermal carrier. Thus, the device of the hydraulic needle allows it to mutually influence two flows of adjacent water circuits. It is installed in different directions - horizontal and vertical. In some cases, this tool is used as an air separator and sludge separators. In the heating and cooling system, it is also used to equalize the flow of the hydraulic system. When removing various bubbles, the latter works very stably and efficiently.

What else is special about the hydraulic needle? The principle of operation of this device is several points. Firstly, this mechanism creates equilibrium in the hydraulic system. And secondly, the hydraulic needle removes various bubbles and sludge from the water supply system, thereby preventing deposits from forming in the device. All this has a positive effect on the operation of the boiler and heating batteries in general.
Hydraulic pointer device
This part is made of special low-carbon steel, 4 fittings, a sleeve for measuring temperature and a perforated partition are installed on it. The system has two inlet and outlet fittings. The first of them performs the function of connecting the boiler circuit, and the second serves the heating mechanism. The perforated partition and the thermowell for temperature measurement are mounted in the reservoir of the hydraulic gun. Thanks to the presence of the first tool in the system, direct circulation of the coolant of the boiler circuit to the heating circuit is excluded. Partitions installed in the lower part of the hydraulic arrow intensify the process of beading, and the valve fitting cleans the device of contaminants.
In what cases is it installed?
The hydraulic arrow is mounted in those cases when the pump of the first circuit interacts with one or more devices of the second in the same system. As a result, the risk of flow fluctuations in the coolant circuits increases. And thanks to such a device as a hydraulic arrow, these effects are normalized to stable values, thereby eliminating the possibility of negative influence of pumps on each other. Thus, this tool provides the flow of water of the same pressure into all the circuits of the system. In this case, the flow rate in the system is 0.1-0.2 meters per second.
