In Russia, many people believe that St. Petersburg is a primordially cultural city in the country. It is famous for its huge number of architectural heritage. For example, the St. Petersburg Sports and Concert Complex (CCM) is one of the greatest indoor buildings in Europe, which is located near Victory Park.
History
The sports complex is over forty years old. The idea of construction arose back in the distant 60s. However, construction began only in 1970 and lasted about ten years. The grand opening of the St. Petersburg sports and concert complex took place in 1980. This happened at the time when St. Petersburg was Leningrad, and the sports facility was called the V.K. Lenin.
This building can be considered a copy of the Moscow "Olympic", which was also being built at the time of the 1980 Summer Olympics. It is impressive that in Soviet times the St. Petersburg sports and concert complex was especially large-scale and prestigious by international standards. It was then that the building was used according to its vocation - to provide all athletes with the opportunity to train and perform on the sports ground. But variety performances here from time to time were nevertheless held.
About 1,200 sporting events took place in a closed mega-scale building . Over the entire period, gala concerts (1000) and exhibition fairs (300) were organized.

The appearance of the sports and concert complex in St. Petersburg
The building is wedge-shaped in the spirit of neo-constructivism and is located in the center of a large beautiful meadow. An asphalt path leading to the Victory Park leads to the main entrance of the sports complex. Along this path is a composite monument to the Alley of Heroes, on both sides of which there are ticket offices where you can purchase tickets for visiting the complex. Then the path goes into the stairs, next to it are sculptures such as “Sport” and “Art”. A board is located above the entrance of the building.
Useful and interesting information.
A big plus is that the CCM is located in a very convenient part of the city, so it will be easy for all local and even visitors to find it. Getting to the sports complex is also not difficult. First you need to choose the type of vehicle. This can be either a subway or ground transportation. If the choice falls on the subway, it is worth noting that from the metro station “Victory Park” you can walk to the complex in 15 minutes. Due to such transport accessibility one should not worry about the probability of being late for any premiere.
Tickets for performances or sporting events can be purchased at any box office in the city. For those who prefer to buy everything without leaving their home, there is the opportunity to order tickets online on the CCM official website.
