Despite the fact that now in construction stores you can find any kind of wall coverings (some do not even dare to call a wallpaper), a person who is unsatisfied will surely clatter his tongue and say: consumer goods and boredom! And he will not sin much against the truth. In fact, much of what is on the shelves is by no means an exclusive authoring design. Therefore, we take the initiative and boldly show our creative inclinations.
And so that there is something to build on, it does not hurt to get acquainted with other people's experience. For example, take chic butterfly stencils on the wall. Photos that can be found in abundance in shops and magazines will delight even the most ossified skeptic.
What decoration ideas have not been realized, and everywhere the main decoration is the delicate fluttering creations: small and large, color and monochrome, voluminous and luminous. There are funny cute moths for the children's room, there are strict touchy beauties for the living room, solved in a laconic Japanese style.
The manufacturers, sensing the interest of a wide audience, began to produce ready-made butterfly stencils for wall decor. You can buy at least the most exotic winged guest and settle at home. Even application instructions are included with the kit.
But this is not our option. But we decided to be a little artists ourselves and roll up our sleeves to transform the room. So stop staring at the factory "beauties", create a stencil of butterflies on the wall with your own hands.
To do this, remember the skills that were instilled in the first labor lessons at school. We take paper, better color, it is easier for beginners to work. The leaf is gently bent in half. Now we begin to draw the outline of the insect with a pencil. But we draw not the whole "carcass", but only its half. Then, without unbending the sheet, we cut out with scissors and discard the core. Extend the paper. Here it is - a stencil of butterflies on a wall. With our own hands, we created, although the simplest, but still unique template.
If you are not satisfied with such a primitive way, then you can put into practice your knowledge in Photoshop. In the program, we create a document with the image of a variety of winged creatures, then draw the contours. Ideal if you manage to maintain a wonderful openwork of wings. We print the resulting blanks on a printer. A stencil of butterflies on a wall with our own hands is gently cut. For such delicate work, it is better to use a well-sharpened clerical knife or elegant manicure scissors.
Now we have the templates. It remains to figure out how we use them: whether it will be a three-dimensional
panel on the wall or restrict ourselves to an exquisite light decor.
For further work you will need glue (necessarily special), paint and a sponge by itself (we will have it instead of a brush). So, a flat drawing on the surface is applied as follows. We take the butterfly stencil on the wall, glue it on our prepared plane for the “tattoo” with our own hands, and then we put a thin layer of paint with a sponge. The template is carefully removed.
For volumetric images, you need acrylic thick, like sour cream, putty. Instead of a sponge, we arm ourselves with a spatula. The following steps are familiar to us in the previous way. Putting putty on the base layer by layer with a spatula, paying attention to each part of the stencil. A layer thickness of one, a maximum of three millimeters will be enough. Otherwise, after removing the template, you will get a very rough likeness of stucco molding.
And do not be afraid to step slightly over the edges, ease will only add charm to your design.
