To knit a sweater for a boy, you need very little: from 200 to 400 grams of yarn (depending on size), a pair of knitting needles of a suitable size and several free evenings.
The model shown in the photo is quite simple to execute. It fits in with individual parts from the bottom up. The patterns that the designer offers consist exclusively of front and back loops. There will be no crochets, or a complex weave of braids.
Yarn selection and control
For knitting a sweater with knitting needles for a boy, you should buy warm, but soft yarn. Material with wool and cotton is best suited. In extreme cases, you can stay on a mixed yarn with acrylic. However, the content of artificial fibers should not exceed 50%.
In the event that a demi-season jumper is knitted with knitting needles for a boy, cotton or bamboo yarn will become optimal.
For calculations, the craftswoman will need a small fragment of the future canvas. She should knit a control sample of the selected yarn and pattern. After measuring it, it will become clear how many loops are 10 cm wide and how many rows are 10 cm high.
Now you can start knitting the main parts.
Children's sweater: front and back details
In this case, the canvases of the main parts are knitted the same way. That is, the front will have the same shape and dimensions as the back.

Many craftswomen note that knitting a raglan sweater with knitting needles from the bottom is much easier than working in circular rows and moving from the neckline to the bottom.
This is due to the fact that individual details can be decomposed on the pattern and correct inaccuracies in time.
For the first row of backs, you should dial on the knitting needles of the number of loops (calculated according to the control sample) and knit with a garter pattern to a height of 3-5 cm.
Then go to the front surface and build up the canvas. The pattern indicates the place where several rows should be performed according to scheme A.1.
Then it is necessary to immediately proceed to the implementation of the pattern according to scheme A.2.
When the part is connected to the armhole line, several loops (3-5 cm wide) should be closed on each side. Further, for the formation of raglan lines, it is necessary to reduce in each second row one loop at the beginning and at the end of the row.
The distance from the beginning of the armhole to the neck at the back is indicated by a dotted line. The depth of the neck will be 3 cm. To form a round neckline, first close the central loops (10-13 cm wide), and then decrease in one loop in each second row. The right and left shoulder are knitted in turn.
The front detail is performed similarly, but the neck will be deeper, so the distance from the beginning of the armholes to the reduction of the central loops will be less.
Knitting sweater sleeves
To make the jumper with knitting needles for the boy comfortable, the cuffs of the sleeves should be tied with a dense elastic band.
The standard height of the cuffs is 5-7 cm. Next, the work is carried out by the front surface. The sleeve is expanded by adding two loops in one row (at the beginning and at the end) through an equal number of rows. For example, every seven rows, in the eighth, additions are performed.
The place to start knitting pattern A.1 is indicated by a dash. Then you need to refer to scheme A.2.
The armholes are knitted in the same way as when working on the back and front part: they cut two loops in every second row.
The second sleeve is performed similarly.
Assembly parts
When all the paintings are ready, they are sewn with a knitted seam. Loops on circular knitting needles are gathered along the neck and knitted several rows with a shawl pattern or elastic band. At the end, all loops are not tightly closed. If desired, the craftswoman can use a knitting pattern that she likes to knit such a sweater. It is not necessary to observe the indicated sequence of ornaments, because handmade is appreciated for its uniqueness.
