Tapestry is an integral part of vertical gardening in the design of the landscape of a personal territory. We owe this adaptation to Europe, because it was there that they first began to use the techniques of building various levels of compositions, today used around the world and not only to create floral arrangements.

How to equip a trellis with a vine
To equip a single-plane vertical support, vertical posts (wooden, concrete or iron) are installed, between which a steel wire is pulled in 2-3 rows. The columns are dug at a distance of 3-3.5 m, deepening the supports up to 40 cm into the ground, concreted (if necessary). The height of the trellis depends on the cultivated grape variety. Grape trellis is a construction up to two meters high. The distance between the stretched rows of wire is not less than 40-50 cm. The method of fastening the wire depends on the selected type of columns: to wooden ones using brackets, to metal ones by threading galvanized wire through holes pre-drilled.
The main advantage of using grape trellis:
- ease of installation;
- the convenience of caring for the vine and bunches of grapes in the process of ripening the crop;
- the ability to grow vegetables in the rows of the vineyard.
Tapestry is a reliable support for grape bushes. Plants that grow in comfortable conditions grow and develop more quickly, get sick less often and give a richer crop than relatives who grow under ordinary conditions.
Home trellis production options
The pedestals most harmoniously combined with plants look spectacular. To make a wooden trellis, you will need:
- mounting plates for the grill (cross section 10-20 mm);
- bars for the frame: 220x40; 180x40 mm;
- antiseptic for the treatment of wooden surfaces;
- moisture resistant glue for woodwork;
- hacksaw for cutting material;
- electric drill;
- self-tapping screws, dowels 8-10 mm long.
How to make a trellis on a flower bed
First assemble the frame. The bars are interconnected, planting on glue. Additional structural strength is provided by self-tapping screws screwed in at the joints of the end and transverse crossbars.
The lower part of the horizontal bar is not placed along the edge of the body, but shifted to the center by 400-500 mm. So the trellis for flowers will be more sustainable. The entire area of the box is filled with slats. They are installed at the discretion of the master:
- in the box;
- a rhombus;
- depicting a geometric pattern.
When constructing the trellis, it is possible, having made a support, to proceed with the installation of the whole structure or first to make the frame and fasten it to the flowerbed, proceed with sewing up the base area. To extend the life of the wooden flower stand, treat it with an antiseptic. This will protect the tree from the influence of adverse factors: weather, pests and plants that climb along the trellis and carry fungal diseases.
