Especially for all lovers of fun and exciting gameplay, we have prepared a small list of the best arcades on your PC. The games presented below do not require powerful hardware and run without problems on almost any computer. Despite the fact that this list can be called a top, it does not have a distribution by places.
Child of light
The first game to be discussed today is Child of Light. Talented developers from the Ubisoft Montréal studio tell a beautiful fairy tale, the main characters of which are: the magical land of Lemuria, the young princess and the Black Queen. The latter, according to the plot, committed the insidious theft of the sun, moon and stars, which always illuminated Lemuria.
A princess named Aurora is very worried about the future fate of her kingdom, which has lost its three main stars. It is with Aurora that the players will go on the road to dangerous adventures in order, in the end, to find and return the missing sun, moon and stars. They have to fight face to face with the Black Queen and restore the withering kingdom.
You can enjoy the story of Child of Light both alone and in company with other players. In multiplayer, the role of the second partner is played by a special firefly, which helps Aurora during battles with opponents.
Cuphead
The next game from our list of the best arcades on PC will surely appeal to all fans of classic and "old school" gameplay. Kaphead is a two-dimensional indie project that has very successfully combined the platformer and arcade genres, as well as the run and gun subgenre (English - run and gun). The key feature of the game is its graphics and unforgettable style, the creation of which the developers were clearly inspired by the American animation of the early 30s.
As for the plot, Cuphead offers players to plunge into a rather banal, but no less fascinating story. The main character is a guy whose head resembles a coffee cup with a straw (hence the name of the game).
We learn that Kaphead (the same main character) made a deal with the Devil himself and now must return to him a rather large amount of debt. For the sake of this goal, the character embarks on a dangerous adventure, during which he will collect the necessary amount of money and fight amazing opponents.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
The next adventure of the fearless tomb raider went to the next place of honor in today's top of the best arcades. The game is made in a genre unusual for the series and tells a completely new story with its own plot, style and a number of other innovations. Guardian of Light is such an arcade action movie with a top camera, the active use of a variety of upgrades, lightning-fast shootings and exciting battles with the main bosses of the game.
In the story, Lara Croft goes to Central America, where she was brought by legends about the mysterious Mirror of Smoke. Upon arrival, our tomb raider is confronted with a revived dark spirit named Xolotl, who has awakened from a long sleep and is now eager to plunge the whole world into darkness.
One of the main features of the Guardian of Light (in addition to changing the genre) is a cooperative. Now Lara can fight with opponents not alone, but in the company of the Guardian of Totek - that same Guardian of the Light, who defeated Xolotl two thousand years ago. As you can already guess, the role of Totek goes to the second player, if the game is played in cooperative mode.
LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Lego has long been releasing quality games in the arcade genre based on various popular franchises. As for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, this is not only one of the best representatives of the series, but also one of the best arcades on the PC (by the way, in addition to computers, it can also be launched on all major platforms). The events of this game remain faith storylines from the sixth and seventh Star Wars films.
Fans of "Lego" -projects will certainly be pleased with the fact that the developers did not depart from their usual styles and mechanics, so players will already enjoy the gameplay familiar from previous projects. In addition to the main campaign, everyone will be able to take part in rating battles, as well as try out a special mode called Blaster Battles.
