The service life of a roof made of metal depends not only on the quality of the material itself, but also on the quality of its installation. Proper installation of metal tiles plays an important role. The roof will serve for a long time if all the requirements for high-quality insulation and ventilation of the roof are met. Therefore, the laying of metal requires special knowledge and experience in performing this work.
Styling technology
There is an instruction for laying metal tiles, which provides for the following items:
1. Performing a roofing pie under the metal tile.
Wrong and poor-quality laying of layers of a roofing pie under a metal tile does not immediately appear. But it will very significantly reduce the service life of the roof. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out fairly tight control over the creation of layers. In order for the installation of metal tiles to be performed efficiently, and the roof lasts a long time, the following layers are performed from bottom to top:
- vapor barrier layer;
- a layer of insulation;
- waterproofing;
- crate;
- metal tile.
2. Thermal insulation
The insulation in the form of slabs is mounted completely between the rafters. The width of the insulation layer should be 10-15 cm greater than the required size. When laying on the insulation, water should not enter.
3. Performing vapor barrier. This special film is laid with a gap of 30-50 mm in relation to the insulation layer.
4. Waterproofing is also a special film (superdiffusion membrane), which is placed directly on the thermal insulation layer. Between both types of film, all overlap spots and openings must be carefully sealed.
5. Hooks are installed for the spillway gutter.
6. Installation of the lathing under the metal tile. The lathing is made of wood or ventilated girder with a pitch of 350 mm.
7. Installation of cornice strips and lower valley. Both elements protect against water entering the subroofing space.
8. A bypass around the chimney is installed. To do this, a 50 mm waterproofing film is displayed on the pipe and fixed on it. With the help of special strips, the pipe is circumvented, as well as water is drained to the eaves.
9. The sheets of metal are raised to the roof.
10. In order for the metal tile to be laid in high quality, laying is carried out in the following order. To do this, the sheets are strictly horizontally aligned along the eaves line with an overhang of 50 mm behind it, after which they are attached to the crate with self-tapping screws in the places where the wave is deflected. All sheets must be attached to each sheathing. Through exits to the roof are performed using special walk-through elements. Places of exposure of layers of steam, heat and waterproofing should be sealed with adhesive tape. Joints between passage elements are insulated with silicone sealant.
11. Installation of the dormer window, upper valley, installation of abutment plates, end plates, installation of the ridge of the metal tile. Snow retainers are installed. The end plate is mounted on screws to the end plate every 350 mm.
12. The overhang of the roof is hemmed.
13. At this point, the installation of the roof and the laying of metal tiles end, the garbage is removed, the damaged places are tinted.
14. Mounted drainage system.
