In addition, gypsum panels for walls do not withstand strong impacts and increased mechanical stresses. That is why they are not recommended for use in children's rooms, for which plastic ones are more suitable.
To fix such panels on the wall, the best way of fixing is considered to be glue. However, it requires a very thorough and high-quality basic wall finish. Gypsum 3D panels for walls are difficult to fix on the frame because of their fragility.
Types of gypsum panels
Panels, stucco molding, imitation of artificial stone or fabric - in this form you can find gypsum panels in stores. In shape, in most cases, they are square or round, less common are round and oval, which are mounted at a certain interval. Standard gypsum panels are available in such popular sizes: from 200 x 200 mm to 600 x 900 mm, with a thickness of 1.8 to 3.6 cm.
Manufacturers accompany their products with instructions that indicate the number of necessary elements to obtain a complete image. In some cases, the composition is built on one volumetric slab, which creates a repeating motive. Between themselves, the plates can be connected in various ways, forming an original pattern. You can not make a continuous decorative wall covering, but arrange the panels diagonally, in different stripes or groups.
When buying gypsum volumetric plates, you need to know the laying area. This is important because such a finish can be performed on walls not exceeding 10 m in length and with a total quadrature of not more than 40 m 2 . If these parameters are exceeded, it will be necessary to arrange seams that will compensate for temperature changes in the base.
