Mine mushroom cow from Minecraft is a unique animal found only on a mushroom island. When creating these creatures, models of ordinary cows were used, which added some additional interesting differences. So, the skin of these mobs is painted red, and the eyes are black. In addition, the back of mushroom cows is strewn with small red mushrooms.
What are they needed for?
Mushroom cows can be trimmed with scissors. After the haircut, the animals throw red mushrooms from their backs (up to 5 pieces) and become ordinary cows. You cannot cancel the transformation and return the mob.
Just like ordinary cows, mushrooms, dying, take off their skin and raw beef. If the death of the animal occurred from interaction with a fire source, then fried beef will immediately fall out. In addition, if a bucket is “applied” to mushroom cows, they will produce milk.
How to get an unlimited amount of food
Milk and beef are, of course, good, but mushroom cows can produce something more. Perhaps the most valuable aspect of using these animals is getting stewed mushrooms. This dish is given very easily - it’s quite simple to “apply” an empty cup on one such mob. Stewed mushrooms here are considered rare food, which is also not so easy to craft. Fortunately, if a character has at least one mushroom cow, then the reserves of this unique dish will become unlimited.
After update 1.4, stewed mushrooms began to recover only 3 units of hunger, whereas earlier they restored all 4 units.
Breeding tips
Wheat can be used to breed mushroom cows. By the way, if you simultaneously hold wheat in your hands and move, then the cows will begin to follow.
The cubs that were born are not able to provide the character with meat or experience (as is the case with other similar mobs). However, you can still cut them and collect milk from them. Mushroom cows must not be mated with ordinary ones; cubs can only be obtained from animals of the same species. Previously, such a cross was possible, the changes took effect after the release of update 1.2.5.
Achievements
Having in its use several mushroom cows, you can get 2 unique achievements:
- “Butcher” - it’s enough to kill one mob and take 1 skin from it. On PS, this trophy is bronze. It can also be obtained through other animals - from an ordinary cow or horse.
- "Repopulation" - it is necessary to obtain offspring from two cows, using wheat.
