The Sims 2 add-on called Hobbies was the seventh major update, adding many new unique features to the game. In it, Sims gained access to various hobbies, interest clubs and other creative activities. Expanding horizons
It is noteworthy that a place with "Hobbies" in the gameplay of The Sims 2 appeared several characteristic features inherent in the RPG genre. Now our wards have acquired a scale of experience that can be replenished through completing special tasks and gaining important achievements. It can be a marriage or a device for a good job. The completed scale helps to get special “perks” that have some specific effect on the gameplay, affecting both basic needs and social ones. For example: reducing hunger or natural need, raising the level of popularity or duration of experience, and much more.
The most successful characters will be able to acquire an additional scale of aspirations. Sims are free to choose between a career, fame, personal life, and even a cheese sandwich. Choosing an unusual goal, we acquire the corresponding desires and fears.
Sims and their hobbies
Doing your own hobby in the game "Sims 2: Hobbies" does not mean a waste of free time and energy. Whatever our wards - sewing, ballet, writing or sports - they will pump the appropriate skills and acquire new opportunities. It is worth noting that we can’t change one hobby for another, but we can always abandon an unloved activity.
Sims with the same hobbies are usually easier to find common topics for conversation and, as a result, develop friendships faster. Both adults and children can enjoy hobbies. The latter, although they will not be able to reach great heights in their favorite pastime, will still set a good “start” for their future.
Genie? Genie!
Perhaps the main secret of “Sims 2: Hobbies” is a new unplayable character that appeared in the main game along with the expansion. Of course, we are talking about the Djinn, who lives in his own magic lamp and can fulfill wishes. A genie can go to absolutely any sim, provided that his hobby has reached the maximum level of development. The player must send his ward to the fortuneteller (she appears in the game with the addition of "Nightlife"), and already from her he will receive the same magic lamp. In order for the Djinn to appear, she will have to be rubbed. As soon as this happens, the sim will be able to fulfill his three wishes. By the way, desires are registered in the game, so we won’t be able to come up with something ourselves - you can only select them from a special list.
So, the sim can choose the following:
- become rich (the character receives 10,000 simolions at his own expense);
- become beautiful (within four days the character becomes more attractive to sims of the chosen gender);
- experience a long life (the character is rejuvenated for three days);
- surround yourself with spiritual peace (all the character’s life aspirations are filled to the maximum; the effect lasts for the whole life of the sim);
- win a dispute with death (the character emerges victorious from the death draw);
- return the deceased relative.
Useful Codes for "The Sims 2: Hobbies"
The add-on supports almost all cheats that were used in previous updates of the game. Below we presented the modified and added codes:
- game Version - shows the current version of the game;
- addNeighbor ToFamilyCheat [on or off] - activates a special menu that appears only if you click on a third-party sim;
- aging [on or off] - enables or disables the aging option;
- aspiration Level [from 0 to 5] - sets the level of aspiration of the character;
- aspiration Points [specify number] - adds a specified number to the sim’s aspiration;
- delete All Characters - removes all the characters in the neighborhood;
- unlock career rewards - opens access to all career rewards (for a certain character);
- max motives - increases the level of all needs and moods to the maximum. All characters within the same house (even guests) are affected.
- aspiration level 5 - opens access to the platinum mood of the sim;
- motherlode - Adds 50,000 simolions to the characters account.
