Azshara was once a beautiful elf with snow-white, pale blue skin. Now she looks like a serpentine creature with a female torso and lives in the very depths of the ocean. What led to such a radical change in her life and appearance?
Elf
Queen Azshara, belonging to the race of high-born elves, ruled her people wisely and fairly. Nationals adored her and admired her extraordinary beauty.
She also had no equal in the art of magic, but Azshara always wanted more. And so, having gained power, she gave the order to build a palace on the banks of the Source of Eternity. This huge lake was filled to the brim with the purest energy that Queen Azshara needed so much to maintain her power.
The source of Eternity attracted not only elves, but also ancient powerful titans, one of which was Sargeras. He convinced Azshara to make an alliance. When the elf helps him penetrate her world through a well, Sargeras will turn her homeland into a real paradise on earth, and she will rule these lands. The queen, along with her associates, trusted him.

Perhaps if Azshara knew more about this titan, she would not have made such a deal. But, intoxicated by the opening prospects, the queen of the elves did not feel the threat. But Sargeras is far from just being called the Enemy of all living things and the Lord of chaos.
After the creation of the Burning Legion, the titan saw his goal only in the destruction of all kinds of life in the universe. Knowing nothing about this, Azshara with her own hands almost let him into her planet, but this tragedy was avoided.
Naga
Even before the powerful titan could get to Kalimdor through the Source of Eternity, the planet’s defenders destroyed the portal. But the consequences of the destruction of the Source were global. The continent split into several parts, and the Queen’s palace sank to the bottom of the ocean, burying the ruler of the elves along with her entourage. For a long time, it was believed that Azshara died, because it was unthinkable that after such a catastrophe someone could survive. But the Queen reappeared on the continent after thousands of years and in a different guise.
Now the nagas considered her a real deity and were ready to die for their queen. Using such a powerful army, Azshara wants to seize those lands that previously belonged to her by right, but were lost due to their own vanity.
Many characters have an interesting story in the WoW universe. Queen Azshara is only one of them.
