There are many beautiful places in the world. And one of them, of course, is Kislovodsk. “Narzan Valley” is a relatively young sanatorium; it opened to visitors in this capacity in 2001.
Good location
In Soviet times, there was a specialized boarding house for railroad workers (it began to be built in 1966), and the old connections, of course, have been preserved - according to old memory, Russian Railways is working closely with the sanatorium: the company’s trade union committee provides employees with permits. Perhaps that is why the “Narzan Valley” in Kislovodsk is perceived by some travelers as a vacation destination “only for railway workers”.
Of course, this is not so. Four-star motels are not built to reject “non-core” customers.
Judging by the information on the official website, anyone who dreams of visiting Kislovodsk can purchase a ticket. "Narzan Valley" is located just around the corner from the railway station (which is very nice, because it is practically the center of the city). If the luggage is not too heavy, along a completely civilized path (which local residents will gladly show) you can walk to the main entrance in just 2-3 minutes.
Do not confuse a modern holiday destination with a camp site that closed in 2007. "Narzan Valley" is a sanatorium located in the city, and the houses of the institution "rested in the Bose" are 30 kilometers south.
The camp site was also called a little differently - just like the lowland in which it was located. As a geographical unit, the Valley of Narzans exists today, is famous for its many mineral springs located very close to each other. The abandoned houses of the former camp site are now used for overnight tourists-savages.
Modern range of services
The territory of the sanatorium is not large, but there are quite a lot of buildings: 6 bedrooms (some of them are connected by galleries), 2 treatment rooms, and one “summer residence” for VIPs.
The paths are mirror-smooth, and indeed, everything is very well-maintained and looks great in photographs (including photographs taken by guest experience). Cleanliness amicably praised by all vacationers, not a single review can do without mentioning this nice detail.
The infrastructure is also very good: benches, malls, an entertainment center, a pharmacy, a well-equipped playground, a swimming pool, tennis courts and the only water park in the city so far, regarding which some authors complain.
Stumbling block - water park
Access to it is open to all comers, the whole tourist Kislovodsk is here with pleasure. The “Narzan Valley” hospitably welcomes guests who sometimes do not immediately go to the final destination of their trip, but enjoy roaming around the sanatorium, sitting on benches, staring at the buildings with interest.
Of course, such a "courtyard" is not very popular with local residents, especially with young children.
A flea market from "outsiders" is formed in the water park itself - unfortunately, it is not large. A lot of people, almost free entry, no medical examination - all this is a little "annoying", which is understandable. Many people come to Kislovodsk for treatment (the “Narzan Valley” is also a medical institution) and not all of these diseases “inspire” to splash around with their owners in the same pool.
However, the people reasoned that if the medical staff took this phenomenon calmly (and there were no complaints to the prosecutor’s office that they “awarded”, “infected”, etc.), there was nothing to worry about.
Entertainment on site
Only two (but rather high) slides tirelessly deliver to the water screaming from the pleasure of amateurs. Children are especially satisfied - starting at age 12, they can attend the institution on their own, and smaller children will have to be accompanied by adults. True, this is also not a burden to them: everyone gets pleasure.
Against the background of a crowded water park, the pools are secluded places, therefore vacationers of the Dolina Narzana sanatorium (Kislovodsk), who love to swim, prefer to go here. Local aqua aerobics has become less popular: instructors are noted as qualified specialists, with whom it is a real pleasure.
The presence of numerous entertainments is quite capable of providing leisure, and if we take into account the need for sanatorium procedures, even if you do not step a step outside the territory, it is still impossible to get bored.
Note to travelers
However, it is a crime to come here and not see Kislovodsk itself! “Narzan Valley” is a sanatorium genuinely caring for its guests, therefore, it offers many excursions - around the city itself, its environs, a trip to Pyatigorsk, Lermontov places.
In general, Kislovodsk itself is not a stranger to Mikhail Yuryevich. It is here that the action of the perhaps most famous story from the “Hero of Our Time” (“Princess Mary”) takes place.
Lermontov’s very recognizable description of the city and the places around it is the famous Mount “Ring”, which the main character went to admire, really exists and is really very good at sunset. Researchers even found a mountain site, which became the site of the duel of Pechorin and Grushnitsky.
The weather will not spoil the rest
A very good place was chosen for the construction of the sanatorium "Narzan Valley" - Kislovodsk is located in a valley surrounded by mountain peaks. They say that it is precisely because of this that the weather is almost always sunny in the city (locals even say that up to 300 days a year) - low clouds that carry bad weather cannot leak through a thick ridge.

This is also one of the versions explaining the name, but the legend is more interesting. Although it is far from being as good as the waterfalls themselves. The largest of them is about 18 meters high, and the excursion group gets close to it.

It also offers trips to thermal springs, a pilgrimage to the nearby monasteries, a local museum of local lore. Those who wish can take the kids to the Kislovodsk Dolphinarium and enjoy the performance of beautiful smart animals.
In general, there’s more to do than just something - it’s good to cover at least a quarter, because you also need to take medical procedures. Nevertheless, with all the abundance of entertainment, “Narzan Valley” is a sanatorium. Kislovodsk, reviews of which are only the most positive everywhere, has long been famous for healing water. Original souvenirs are also praised, in particular the expertly crafted shawls, which Kislovodsk is famous for. “Narzan Valley” is a very convenient place from the point of view of purchases. Five minutes - and now the center of the city, where you can buy everything that your heart desires (if this is not in the sanatorium itself).
According to statistics, today Kislovodsk resorts are second only to Sochi in popularity. It is really difficult to compete with the sea, but the city is growing and developing unceasingly. Every year, the Dolina Narzana sanatorium (Kislovodsk) is trying to improve the conditions - the photos posted on the official website (and those that vacationers brag about), best indicate that its level is already quite high now, and every year it becomes it's better.
To come here, of course, is worth it. Is it possible to describe with words the splendor of the local species, the grandeur of the mountains, the beauty of the huge coniferous trees surrounding the city? And among this beauty is the healing narzan, which is translated from Kabardian as “a drink of the warriors (sledge)”.
