In the computer game The Elder Scrolls Skyrim V there are many characters who occupy important positions in the management of cities and settlements, as well as actively appear in the storyline. Therefore, the player often intersects with them. One of the first heroes to meet is Jarl Balgruf the Elder. It is about him that will be discussed in this article.
Who it?
Balgruf is the Jarl of Whiterun. This is the settlement that you visit one of the first at the beginning of your journey. It is this jarl who witnesses that you are a Dragonborn. The character guides you on a journey to High Hrothgar, where the Greybeards are located.
Now we characterize the character a little with generally accepted parameters, which fit all the hero in this game. Jarl refers to ordinary people of the Nordic race. Constantly located in Whiterun, in his possession - the Dragon Limit. He is one of the main rulers, since his father is the supreme king of the ancient Skyrim, Olaf the One-eyed.
The ruler has three children who are direct heirs to the throne: two sons and one daughter Dagni, whom he spoils and fulfills her every whim (unlike boys).
Jarl Balgruf is respected by the whole people, as well as outside of Whiterun. His opinion is authoritative, therefore, even the Dragonborn takes his advice and goes to the Graybeard.
Participation in quests
This character takes almost a key part in the storyline. At the very beginning, it is he who sends you along with the guards to sort out the events near the watch tower. It is there that you witness the dragon attack and defeat him, after which it becomes known that your hero is Dragonborn. Then Jarl Balgruf sends the player to the Graybeards.
Also in the game there is a quest that is completely built on exposing the jarl. In the Whispering Door quest, the ruler’s son finds out about his secret worship of Talos. If you follow the storyline behind the Storm Brothers, Balgruf will be overthrown, after which he will go with his family to the Blue Palace of Solitude.
