3 heroes, 3 classes, 3 races
Instead of the usual class system, here we are offered three main characters:
- Orc - warrior;
- demoness - paladin (oddly enough);
- vampire - mage.
What gives a choice?
It is worth noting the fact that, depending on the character you choose, not only the background and capabilities of your character in battle change, but also the type of troops that will be available for hire.
After we get into the halls where they keep the Spirit of Darkness, he supplies us with troops, and in large quantities. If you are not used to taking care of your units, scattering them in different directions, then you often have to stop the passage of Kings Bounty: Dark Side and return to the palace to replenish your troops, because there are not as many taverns on the surface as you would like. At the same time, as mentioned above, depending on your race, the type of troops that the Spirit of Darkness will supply you — undead, demons, or orcs — will also change.
In some situations, the loss of units becomes especially noticeable, which greatly complicates the passage of Kings Bounty: Dark Side. “Monteville” is one of such locations in which there are especially many difficult fights, including battles with a detachment near the main castle, as well as the defenders of the fortress themselves.
The good news is that instead of the usual spirits of Rage and the dragon, we have the opportunity to call for help from friends using various abilities.
New units
The passage of Kings Bounty: Dark Side was also of interest to many fans of the series for the reason that a rather large number of new units were presented here, and also the appearance of certain troops and the animation of some abilities were updated. It is worth noting that in the overwhelming majority of the new units have a fairly pleasant appearance, however, their combat characteristics are not as effective as those of the old proven troops. It is also worth noting that the animation of new units has not been thoroughly worked out everywhere.
Players complained for a long time about developers releasing endless clones of their game, so they tried to squeeze all the juice out of this project, making it as new as possible. They undoubtedly succeeded.

Despite the fact that in Kings Bounty: Dark Side, the passage tells us about the adventures of the dark forces, in fact, we are still offered to save the world once again from its complete destruction. After all, after the Spirit of Darkness was concluded, the light troops began to exterminate the dark and the world lost balance, which threatened with serious consequences. We have to free the Spirit of Darkness and restore balance.
Unlike the rest of the parts, in Kings Bounty: Dark Side, completing quests has become more meaningful and less linear. Thus, in addition to the simple “attack and kill everyone”, we are invited to take the more difficult path, but allowing us to initially weaken the enemy, and then only attack or even win without a fight. For this reason, for many, the main feature that distinguishes Kings Bounty: Dark Side is the passage of quests. "Princess in the Shell" and this game are completely different things. Such a deep elaboration of the quest line will surely appeal to those who are interested in tasks and plot no less than the gameplay itself.
Separately, players who have already mastered the Kings Bounty: Dark Side walkthrough, “Monteville”, or rather a quest in which seven sadistic gnomes need to avenge Carmilla (this is such an interpretation of the fairy tale about Snow White), are singled out separately.
In order to free the Spirit of Darkness, we will need to lure the brightest people to the side of darkness. The happiest woman will need to be made unhappy, the most devoted person to betray, and the lightest should be transferred to the dark side, which is required for the manufacture of the so-called weapon of Retribution, with which we have to destroy the Spirit of Light. Thus, completing the passage of Kings Bounty: Dark Side, we move around the various islands, carry out our main mission, and simultaneously free the former possessions of our main characters from the light enemy troops.
Among other things, we also have to gradually equip our castle, filling it with new buildings, where you can hire various units. Thus, we gradually meet in the locations of various NPCs and hire them to serve. In gratitude, they erect various buildings in the shelter in which it will be possible to purchase special artifacts or hire new units.
It is immediately worth noting that one of the primary tasks is the construction of the Military Department, since the quality and quantity of units offered to us in the initial buildings of the shelter will depend on the productivity of its work in the future.
