Who better to know about this than Darren Cross - the character of the Marvel universe , the creator of the Yellow Hornet costume and the owner of a large corporation. And the way he achieved this makes him truly brilliant.
Henry (Hank) Pym
It all started with the owner of Pim Technologies Corporation, Dr. Hank Pim, who discovered Pim Particles, which allows you to change the size and weight of any body. Later, on their basis, he developed the costume of Ant-Man. His technology was interesting to many and very soon he was invited to work as a consultant in an organization called "Shch.I.T." But this was not enough for him.
One day,
Howard Stark, who was going to use him to fulfill a mission related to the reconstruction of the technologies of the Hydra terrorist group, asks for his costume. Only Henry refuses to give the costume, and asks to complete the task on his own. Stark agrees, and upon his return, says he will no longer endanger Hank. But apparently, he liked to be a military unit in the Shch.I.T. organization rather than a scientist, and therefore he continued to “work in the field”. True, up to a point.
Wasp and ant
The fact is that Hank's wife, Janet Van Dyne, began to work with her husband. She also performed various tasks for the organization, only put on a Wasp costume. That day they had a difficult mission in which they had to defuse a warhead rapidly approaching the United States.
The Ant-Man costume did not work then, so Osa had to save the situation. Of course, she stopped the warhead, but for this she had to decrease to a subatomic size, only she could not return back.
This terrible news broke Hank Pym. He completely enclosed in himself, temporarily left the organization "..." and abandoned all research related to the development of his costume. You can not say about his deputy - Darren Cross.
"Yellow jacket"
Even before he met Hank Pym, Darren was just a gifted guy who had just graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Nevertheless, he was very different from other students, so as soon as Hank noticed him, he immediately offered a job at Pim Technologies. And a little later gave him a place on the board of directors. But then the guy was more interested in scientific activity, so he often spent time in the laboratory, continuing to study Pim's technologies, which he achieved great success.
At first he managed to reduce inorganic matter, but he wanted more, that is, he was going to achieve the same result with organic matter. And so the Yellow Hornet appeared - another high-tech suit with which Cross was going to create an army of super-soldiers. And obsessed with this idea, he did not notice what was happening around.
It's all about Pim’s daughter, Hope, who began to suspect that Cross was going to use his father’s technology not for good purposes. Having decided that all this can lead to sad consequences, she tells her father about it so that he helps her to prevent the future villain.
Only Mr. Cross was already so inspired by the creation of the costume that he was definitely not going to stop. The yellow Hornet was to appear, and for the sake of such a thing, he was even ready to kill. However, this is precisely what he did. Anyone who tried to stop him would die immediately. And Cross successfully completed his research and even found a suit from buyers, which were employees from the Hydra organization.
Ant vs Hornet
While Darren Cross was creating the yellow costume, Hank Pym and his daughter also did not lose time. They trained Scott Lang, a former thief whom Pim had met when he was trying to steal an Ant-Man costume. Now the guy had to use it to steal the Yellow Jacket from Darren Cross. True, that maneuver predicted and lured Lang into a trap. And his assortment is now replenished with a new suit. But he still did not have time to sell them.
Scott Lang managed to get out and take control of his costume. But he couldn’t catch Cross. The Yellow Hornet has long left this place and flew to where Lang's daughter lived. He took her hostage, but when Ant-Man appeared, a battle broke out between them, from which Scott emerged victorious. And Cross, having decreased to subatomic sizes, disappeared forever.
Forces and abilities
It’s not in vain that Dr. Cross spent so much effort, resources and time on creating the Yellow Hornet costume, because everyone who dresses him gets several opportunities:
- Downsizing. The Pima particles, on the basis of which the Yellow Hornet was created (Marvel Comics), allow the wearer of the costume not only to reduce to very small sizes, but also to return to their original dimensions.
- Flight. Everything is simple. He can fly thanks to the device built into the suit.
- Deadly stings. The suit is deadly even for targets at a distance. Two stings peep out from behind, which shoot with impulse charges.
- Force. More precisely, the inhuman force that does not leave him even in a reduced size.
In addition to the "costume" forces, Darren Cross himself is a talented person:
- Keen mind. Like many others, Darren Cross graduated from the Massachusetts Institute, but he alone attracted the attention of Hank Pym. And although at first he simply helped the scientist develop the costume, then he created his own.
- Successful entrepreneur. Otherwise, he would not have succeeded in ousting Hank Pym from his own company. And certainly I could not impress buyers with my invention when it was still at the development stage.
Battle of Champions
Fans of this character should be satisfied, because Darren Cross with his costume got into the “Battle of Champions” - a mobile application developed by Kabam. Almost all the inhabitants of the Marvel universe are gathered there, who will have to take part in the huge battle organized by the Elder of the Universe, a certain Collector.
Battle of Champions is not the first application that forces superheroes to settle scores with each other. In general, they are all somewhat similar. In this case, the Yellow Hornet, as well as other characters, has a crown technique, a certain set of skills and special attacks that can be improved over time. And in the game on the Marvel universe “Battle of the Champions” there is a storyline, as well as the ability to create your own team, in which you can recruit both heroes and villains.
Movie
In 2015, the film Ant Man was released, directed by Payton Reed, in which Darren Cross was played by Corey Stoll and Scott Lang by Paul Rudd. And already in October 2015, confirmation appeared that the film "Ant-Man and the Wasp" would be shot. But the Yellow Hornet is unlikely to appear in it.
