Shemurshinsky district of the Republic of Chuvashia is the zone where the national natural complex "Chavash Varmane" is located. This reserve is characterized by a unique variety of plant and animal species, amazing natural places, striking in their beauty.
General information
Chavash Warmane National Park was established in 1993. Its area exceeds 25 thousand hectares. The climate prevailing on its lands is characterized by: warm summer time, long cold winter, frosts in early autumn and late spring. A moderate wind from the south or east prevails in this natural zone of Chuvashia.
Usually snow covers the park when it passes the first half of November. Sometimes the snow cover reaches a thickness of up to 50-60 cm. Many rivers and streams flowing in the reserve zone differ in winding channels. On its territory there are many clean lakes.

The Chavash Warmane National Park extends to lands that in ancient times were a contact zone between the culture of farmers and nomads. The mounds located on its territory are classified as monuments of carcass culture.
In the reserve you can observe the spiritual monuments of the past: places that were intended for sacrifices to pagan gods, prayers.
The park has a large number of historical monuments: the remains of ancient settlements, mounds, ancient cemeteries. The most significant of them is the Karpinsky serif line, designed in the old days to protect the borders of Russia from the attacks of the steppe nomads. The places where iron ore was mined in the ancient times and the factory where the cloth was made were also of great interest to tourists.
Flora Park
Chavash Warmane National Park is full of unique plants. It is the place of growth of a large number of representatives of the flora, characteristic of the marshland, coniferous forests, forest-steppe and southern taiga. Of particular value is the view of the ancient flora and the mysterious orchid family.

Some of them are rare and endangered species of flora, listed in the Red Book.
Animal world
The Chavash Varmane park (Chuvashia can rightfully be proud of its unique national treasure) is home to many species of animals, birds, reptiles and fish. A certain number of insects and vertebrates living in this park are included in the list of rare and endangered representatives of the fauna world
Not only the unique plants and the splendor of the landscape is characterized by the Chavash Warmane National Park. Animals that live on the protected lands of the complex (moose, hares, squirrels, badgers, lynxes and others) are common in the vastness of Russia. About 90 percent of the wildlife of Chuvashia live at the location of the reserve.
