Airbus A319. The scheme of the cabin and the best places

Airbus is today one of the main suppliers of airborne aircraft around the world. The company with a worldwide reputation has its own production in several European countries: in Germany, France, Spain and the United Kingdom. The headquarters of the aviation giant is located in a small town called Blagnac, in the suburbs of Toulouse, France. The staff is about 50 thousand people. The aircraft company manufactures a full line of aircraft, including the Airbus A319 aircraft, the cabin layout of which allows seating up to 156 seats (in an enlarged version), depending on the customer’s desire and configuration.

Airbus A320 Family

The most advanced aircraft at that time, released in 1988, it became the first passenger airliner in the world to use an EMDS (electro-remote control system). These narrow-body aircraft were designed for medium-haul flights and short-range flights. The main competitor to the family of such winged vehicles is the Boeing 737 series of American-made airliners. The increased demand for such aircraft forced the company’s management in February 2008 to open the second production center in Hamburg - Finkenverder. Until that moment, only one site was operating in Toulouse, where the final assembly of the Airbus A319 was carried out. The aircraft cabin layout was determined by the Airbus model. The smallest of this class, the “A318", could take on board up to a maximum of 138 people, and this when it was put together in one class (economic Y).

Shortened fellow

In the industrial line of medium-range narrow-body aircraft, there is also a shortened version of the 320th - the Airbus Industrie A319 model . The layout of the cabin of such an aircraft is shortened into two rows of passenger seats due to the shorter fuselage. The basic variation of the model is designed to carry 116 passengers, however, at the request of the customer (airline), passenger lounges can be formed individually. The future operator himself chooses the number of cabin classes, their status and the distance between adjacent seats from the recommended range proposed by the manufacturer. Airbus A319 can be made up of three classes of salons: the first, business and economy. In the most economical option, when equipping a car with a single economy class cabin, 156 people can fly aboard the Airbus A319 at a time. The layout of the cabin with this configuration will have a minimum distance between adjacent rows of seats, 28-30 centimeters (about 11 inches).

Where are the best places?

The standard Airbus A319 with the basic economy class Y configuration for 156 seats has 26 rows, three joint seats to the sides of the central aisle (six seats in a row). Without a doubt, the best seats on the plane are in the front row. Without front seats and with increased leg distance, the potential of such seats was appreciated by many, if not almost all carriers that sell reserve for them for a certain amount of money. It is currently very difficult to find an airline that does not charge extra for reservations for such places on the Airbus A319. The layout of the cabin of this aircraft is built in such a way that these are the only best places in the cabin, not counting those located at the emergency exits, where not all groups of passengers are allowed to land.

Are you cool

Sitting in the front row is very comfortable, even despite the proximity of the kitchen and toilets next to the cockpit. But even here there are some passengers who complain that the place “1A” is pretty cool, unlike other places in the front row. In fact, the way it is. If you look at the airplane’s duct diagram, you can find almost above this place, a little closer to the main exit, an air supply unit with a heat exchanger unit, which is responsible for creating the climate in the Airbus A319. The cabin layout is designed in such a way that the distribution of chilled air through the grilles of the deflector starts from here, which may cause some discomfort for passengers sitting in the 1A seat.

Emergency exit

What about the rest of the places? The 10th and 11th rows are also indicated by places of increased comfort. Some especially “agile” airlines manage to charge a fee for booking these places as well. However, their location opposite emergency exits, which on the one hand is a plus due to the increased legroom, may be a minus for some passengers, because they simply will not be put there. This applies to children, the disabled, senior citizens and pregnant women. In an emergency, passengers in these places are expected to help flight attendants, but the above categories of people, as a rule, themselves need escort.

National carrier

By the way, he has 7 Airbus A319 aircraft in the fleet. The cabin layout (Aeroflot ordered an individual layout at the factory) consists of 21 rows and two classes of service. In the business class there are 5 rows: 4 chairs in a row (double seats of increased comfort). The economy lounge has 16 rows: 6 standard seats (built-up seats on each side of the aisle).
