Materials and Tools
First, imagine Santa Claus - how do you want to see him? Will he wear his traditional red costume? For work you will need:
- gum "Fanny Lum" black, purple, pale orange and white;
- two black beads for the eyes;

- two hooks;
- padding pad for stuffing;
- machine Rainbow Lum.
Getting to work

- Above, along the perimeter of a large rectangle, sketch, without twisting, purple elastic bands.
- Between the two rectangles, cross the two purple gum crosswise, twisting them with a figure of eight.
- Drop the elastic bands of the lower row in the center.
- Next, you need to expand the torso. To do this, transfer the upper rubber band from the far right column of the lower row to an additional hook, transfer the lower rubber band to the neighboring right column, and the upper one back. The same actions must be repeated in the remaining corners of the rectangle.

Fourth stage

- Dip the bottom rubber bands to the center. Please note that on the extreme columns, in the bottom row, there will be one elastic band, and on the central columns - four.
- Weave the edge of the grandfather's caftan according to the same principle by which white lapels for boots were made. It will be necessary to make sixteen blanks from white rubber bands.
- Discard the rubber bands of the lower row in the center, throw purple gum around the perimeter. Repeat.

Only a little remains

- To continue making souvenirs, discard the elastic bands of the lower row in the center, put on the purple elastic bands around the perimeter and drop the lower row in the center two more times.
- To narrow the body, transfer the rubber band from the right extreme column of the lower row to the neighboring left one. It is important not to remove the elastic at the same time - it should remain on two columns at the same time.
- Remove the bottom “Fanny Lum” from the left column in the center, and remove the rubber band draped over two columns from the far right, leaving it only on the left column.
In the same way weave all the corners of the rectangle. Now the body of the figure should remain on twelve columns instead of sixteen.
Make hands

The face is flesh-colored from Fanny Lum:
- Spread them on the four central columns of the first row, then throw on the remaining columns white rubber bands for the beard.
- The gum of the lower row is dumped into the center. Flesh-colored rubber bands are thrown on the first row of columns, adding black beads for the eyes.
The next step is to narrow the weave. To do this, repeat the narrowing of the trunk described above. The figure should remain on eight columns.
Final stage
So that you can complete the weaving of rubber bands, Santa Claus must be fully prepared. It remains only to complete the manufacture of the head:
- Throw in a rubber band on the central pair of columns of the first row, on the rest - white, in the usual way. Discard the center of the bottom row of elastic bands. Repeat.
- Transfer the loops from the machine to a couple of hooks.
