This design is a system consisting of several vertically mounted slats. The latter are connected into a single web using loops. Visually, such a door resembles corrugated blinds.
When the door is open, its constituent elements (lamellas) are folded like bellows. So that the movement of the lamellas and the door leaf is as smooth as possible, and all the elements are in parallel, special synchronizer parts are used in the design. In order for the mechanism to be fixed in a certain position, the system is equipped with special stop flags.

As for the necessary materials, you need to purchase what is needed in the process of preparing the opening. These are any extras, as well as platbands that will do. It is important that the material has a thickness of at least 15 millimeters. It can easily withstand the weight of the door structure and all operational loads.
Instruments
For installation work you need a hammer drill or perforator, measuring tools, a plumb line along with a level, a hacksaw, a corner, a miter box, mounting foam. The latter will require several cylinders. It is desirable that it be of proper quality.
Cooking doorway
Installation of interior doors-accordions is quite possible in an existing opening directly inside the door frame. But in this way its width will be reduced. It is much better to dismantle the old door completely and remove the mortar under the box to the base. Next, measurements are taken and verified with the nominal dimensions of the doors and the number of elements in them. This list is necessarily in the installation instructions. When reconciling dimensions, it is important to remember the width of the extensions.
So you can find out whether you need to expand the opening or, conversely, reduce its size with the help of foam and extras. The latter are cut so that the result is a box without a threshold. After the manufacture of the box, the element is inserted into the opening and, with the help of wooden bars, as well as wedges and various substrates, is fixed. To install the box more reliably, several bars are selected whose width is equal to the opening. These struts are installed at the top, in the central part of the box, and at the bottom. This is done to exclude the deformation of the add-ons during installation. To fasten the extension to the base of the wall, large length anchor bolts are used. Install three on each side and two at the top.
When the anchors are installed, begin foaming the gap between the wall and the duct. After the foam dries, you can proceed to the installation of the accordion door. Do it yourself is quite possible.
Mounting guide rails
In order to calculate everything correctly, you should start work with the installation of the guiding structural elements and other fasteners. The set of door system must have a profile, which is the guide. As indicated in the instructions, first measure the desired length of the profile - the excess part is cut off. It is best to use a miter box for this. Then the cut will be as even as possible.
A guide is also cut for mounting a blind door element and a mate on the handle side. Further, all measurements are checked again, but they do this by placing a profile - it is too early to fix it. Holes for self-tapping screws are pre-drilled in the guide. Holes are made in the upper rail every 5-7 millimeters. On the side elements - every 15-20 centimeters.
If the guide is mounted using special fasteners-clips, then immediately begin to install them around the perimeter of the opening. Often apply the same elements to the top and profile. On the side where the groove and lock will be located, clips of smaller sizes are used.
The upper rail is mounted so that the fasteners are located no further than 5-7 centimeters from each other. On the side parts, 4 or 5 clips are sufficient evenly in height.
Assembly of a cloth, installation of rollers
Each strip of which the canvas will consist of is cut so that they are equal to each other and are similar in height to the opening. The installation instruction for the accordion door recommends that you consider the margin for the roller system, which is inserted into the upper guide. The lower part should have a ventilation gap of no more than 10 millimeters.
In simple cases, plastic strips are connected using grooves or gaskets. Two parts are offset and joined by the edges, and then one element extends along the other. In the doors of MDF, the stripes of the fabric are connected to each other by means of an axis, which are in turn threaded through special eyes on each element of the fabric.
After the canvas is assembled, you need to install accessories on the product, as well as rollers. Everything must be done strictly according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Final assembly process, fasteners
It remains only to put a folding interior door accordion. Do-it-yourself installation involves threading the rollers into the profile rail. When everything is inserted into place, the structure is folded and placed in the central part of the profile. This makes it easier to fasten the guide profile in the doorway.
If clips are used for fasteners, then the rail simply clicks on them. If necessary, a hammer is used for full snapping.
If there are no clips in the kit, then self-tapping screws should be used. They first attach the profile along the edges, and then along its entire length.
Next, the side profiles of the structure are installed and fixed. Then the deaf part of the web is fixed to the profile. At this point, it is recommended to check how easy the door is and how tightly it fits to the mating element.
If the canvas has a smooth ride and fits well, then you can proceed to mounting the handle. Then a latch with a magnet is screwed into it.
Testament stage
When everything is securely fixed and checks have shown that everything works, proceed to the installation of platbands along the perimeter of the door frame. You need to install them on both sides.
