Description

dead space game

Necromorphs are the animated corpses of living creatures that, under the influence of cosmic radiation, strongly mutate and take on terrifying forms. The creatures obtained as a result of this process are extremely aggressive and attack any uninfected organism that has fallen into their field of vision.

In the Dead Space trilogy, necromorphs are the main opponents of the protagonist, and indeed of humanity as a whole. Their main task is to spread the infection in order to collect as much biological material as possible for the Brothers of the Moon - huge monsters of a planetary scale. And since the infection is transmitted only through dead tissue, they kill everything living in its path.

The cycle of birth of necromorphs begins with the Obelisks. These extraterrestrial devices constantly emit an electromagnetic signal. It provokes the degeneration of any dead flesh into the tissue of necromorphs. In addition, infection occurs through the pathogen - an alien bacterium. True, only certain types of creatures transmit it - infectious agents and swarms.

Necromorphic habitats are anywhere in the trilogy universe. You will meet these inanimate monsters in sewers and service tunnels, in living quarters, on the surface of the planet, and even in outer space.

All kinds of necromorphs in Dead Space

The developers did a good job of bestiary in the game. In addition to the bosses, who, by the way, in trilogy 9, in the adventure you will have to fight with more than twenty types of necromorphs. And each of these types of opponents is characterized by survivability and unique abilities. So for them you need some tactics of the game. And then we will examine in more detail all types of necromorphs in the universe of the Dead Space trilogy.

The shredder (Slasher)

necromorph dismemberment

The most common type of necromorph in Dead Space, which is found in all parts of the game. The disruptors are relatively weak, but pose a serious danger if attacked by a group, because a few blows are enough for them to kill your hero. Fortunately, these opponents are slow, and they can be destroyed on the way. To do this, cut off 2-3 limbs.

Jumper (Leaper)

who are necromorphs

These necromorphs pose a serious danger, because they are able to quickly move and jump over long distances. In addition, their sharp claws and tail with spikes can kill your character in Dead Space in just 1-2 hits. Jumpers with a dark color and red eyes are especially dangerous. Moreover, there are such necromorphs in each part of the trilogy, and at the same time they can attack both in dark corridors and in zero gravity. To destroy such an enemy, immediately shoot your hands and head. This will slow down the enemy, and you can finish him off with a kick of the boot.

Hidden (Lurker)

necromorph lurking

This opponent can be called a sniper of the game Dead Space, because he specializes in long-range attacks. Many sticky limbs allow him to cling to any support and even to the ceiling. In addition, this enemy moves silently and loves to hide in dark corners, from where he attacks the main character.

Of particular danger are three tentacles that appear from the back of the lurking. They deliver biting strikes of tremendous power in close combat, and also shoot bone formations at long range. Therefore, in the battle with these necromorphs, you must first shoot the tentacles, especially since the body of the hiding is almost invulnerable.

Pregnant

In the Dead Space trilogy, this type of necromorph is found in all parts. It looks like a bloated disintegrator and acts in much the same way. The only difference is that if you don’t shoot the pregnant woman’s limbs on time, the monster’s belly will burst and many larvae or lurking ones will appear from there. Therefore, in a battle with several opponents, try to kill a pregnant woman in the first place. And shoot the upper limbs, trying not to touch the legs and stomach. Otherwise, the necromorph will give birth.

Larvae (Swarmer)

The smallest and weakest necromorphs of the Grandfather Space game. But do not underestimate them, because the larvae attack, as a rule, in a pack and can rip your hero literally in seconds. In a battle with these opponents, it is better to use a flamethrower or other weapon with a large radius of damage.

Wheezer (Wheezer)

This type of opponents is found only in the first and third parts of the Grandfather Space trilogy. The rattlers cannot move and attack, nevertheless they exhale a deadly gas. And if your hero does not kill these necromorphs in time, then he will simply suffocate. And to destroy them is not so difficult, besides these opponents can be crushed with boots in order to save ammunition. The main thing is to detect wheezing in time.

Demoman (Exploder)

necromorphs habitat

Opponents of this kind are found in every part of the game Dead Space. They are dangerous because they carry a large bag with luminous substance in their left hand. And if they get closer, they will surely hit your hero with it, because of which there will be an explosion. Demos usually attack as a group, but they can be destroyed on the way. Firstly, they can be seen in the luminous bag, and secondly, these necromorphs make a loud sound, similar to clucking. So it’s not hard to find demolitionists. To kill these opponents, shoot at the bag or cut off the limbs.

Divider

This opponent is found in the first and second parts of the game Dead Space. Necromorph, resembling a tall and thin man, breaks up into several parts, as soon as you inflict enough damage on him. And each of these parts will attack your hero. So killing a separator will take a lot of rounds. In battle with the enemy, it is advisable to use stasis to freeze all parts. Then it will be easier to shoot them with a laser rifle.

The Beast (Brute)

One of the most powerful and dangerous necromorphs in Dead Space, which is found only in the first and second parts of the trilogy. His huge body is covered with armor, which is invulnerable to any weapon. And you can kill a monster by shooting your upper limbs. But for this you need to get several times to the vulnerable points between the shoulders and the body, highlighted in yellow. The task is complicated by the fact that the beast attacks quickly and even one hit can destroy the hero. Therefore, it is advisable to maneuver in battle, as well as use a flamethrower, stasis or freezing capsules.

Infector

grandfather space

This necromorph resembling a stingray with a huge mouth is not particularly dangerous in battle. Nevertheless, it must be killed in the first place, because the infector turns all the nearby corpses into dismembers. And if you let the situation drift, then very quickly hordes of opponents form around you. The contaminant is found in all parts of the game.

Quagmire (Twitcher)

all kinds of necromorphs in dead space

One of the fastest necromorphs, which looks like a disassembler, but differs from it by the speed of running and reaction. It is very difficult to get into this enemy even from close range, so it is advisable to use stasis in battle. The best weapon against a shaker is a pulse rifle or plasma cutter. Necromorph is found in the first and third parts of the game.

Guardian

dead space characters

This necromorph, resembling a biomass with a human face, is tightly attached to the wall. And although the monster cannot actively hunt you, this does not make it less dangerous, because the guard is capable of releasing a tentacle with a tip. And one blow of this shoot will immediately kill your hero. Moreover, the tentacle flies a fairly large distance, so the guard needs to be killed from afar. In addition, the enemy spits out small necromorphs - pods, which will also add a lot of trouble.

Moreover, the guard is vulnerable only when he releases his shoots, and in order to kill him, you need to cut them all off. To do this, it is better to use any explosives, trying to throw it into the hole on the stomach of the necromorph.

Pod (Pod)

These small monsters, similar to clots of flesh with one tentacle, spit out the guard. And although they have weak characteristics, necromorphs can cause a lot of trouble, because they spit out sharp needles, which significantly reduce the level of health. In addition, these opponents explode after death, so it is undesirable to be near the pods after cutting off the limbs. And even more so do not trample their boots.

Tentacle (Dragtacle)

necromorphs birth cycle

This necromorph, which is essentially a huge tentacle, is found in all parts of the game. Its full appearance was not shown, but it can be assumed that this monster is huge. And there is also an opinion that this is one of the processes of the slug (the boss of the first part). This necromorph attacks your hero in the narrow corridors of the spaceship, grabbing him by the legs and dragging him into his den. And to get free, you will need to get to the yellow vulnerable points on the body of the monster, moreover, one shot from a powerful weapon is enough. The task is complicated by the fact that it is difficult to aim at a moving tentacle, and stasis does not affect it.

Hunter Ubermorph (Ubermorph). The Regenerators

necromorphs description

These mini-bosses look like disassemblers, but with longer arms that have massive blades. Such necromorphs are invulnerable to conventional weapons, and cutting off limbs does not lead to death, but only slows down opponents, because monsters can regenerate and grow new arms and legs. True, this takes time. Therefore, the tactics of battle with such opponents is to slow down stasis and shoot limbs. Then you will have ten seconds to escape to a safe distance.

Puker

Quite a dangerous kind of opponents that spits acid over a long distance, thereby slowing down your hero. In close combat, he tries to pour acid vomit under Isaac's jumpsuit, which takes a huge amount of health. These necromorphs appear in Dead Space 2 and 3. To kill them, use the plasma cutter, firing off the legs and then the head. So you will get rid of the enemy in 2-3 shots, otherwise the necromorph will leave an impressive supply of ammunition.

Crawlers

necromorphs dead space

These necromorphs transform from the corpses of children and look like babies with a bloated yellow belly. Despite their small size, the opponents are quite dangerous, because when they approach they explode, cause serious damage to the main character, besides the crawlers attack, as a rule, by a large group.

These opponents are easy to kill, just get into the yellow bag, and they will explode, simultaneously destroying neighboring enemies. But it is advisable not to let them close to you, otherwise you will be affected by the blast wave.

Bubble

Fixed monster, found in the second and third parts of the game. It looks like a small breathing growth on the walls. Despite its weak characteristics, it is better to kill a necromorph of this type from afar, because when approaching, the bubble spits out an organic bomb, which, when dropped, causes significant damage. Fortunately, to kill a monster, it is enough to get into it with just one bullet. The main thing is to find the bubble, because this necromorph most often hides in dark corners and you can learn about its presence only by characteristic sighs.

Eaters (Feeder)

These skeleton-like monsters were once people who died of starvation on the planet Tau Valantis. They are not distinguished by strength and dexterity, but they are attacked by a large crowd, which makes them dangerous opponents. In battle with eaters, it is better to use weapons with a wide angle of destruction. This kind of necromorphs occurs in Dead Space 3.

Waste

Such a necromorph is found only in the third part of the game. He disguises himself as a person and uses any improvised means to attack, most often ice axes. To kill the waste, you need to shoot his legs. But if you slightly damage the body of the monster, then it will immediately fall into two parts, and three tentacles will grow from its back. And getting into them from conventional weapons is much more difficult.

Socket (Nest)

A large view of the necromorphs that are found in the second and third parts of the game, in the zone of zero gravity. The monster attacks with homing organic shells resembling octopuses. The only vulnerabilities of this monster are three yellow bags of infected flesh, with which he shoots. They are easy to destroy with a single shot of a mine from a laser rifle.

Sora (The Pack)

necromorph characteristics

This type of opponents is found only in the second part of the game. Necromorphs apparently appeared from children 6-7 years old. They are very dangerous, because they attack from all sides and a very large group, in fact, for this they got their name. And although each member of the pack is rather weak, together they can tear the main character in just a few seconds. In a battle with a pack, it is better to use quick-fire weapons with a large supply of ammunition, and also effectively cope with opponents a flamethrower, laser rifle mines and alternative fire of a power torch.

Roy

A small necromorph, resembling a spider, is dangerous because it revives all the corpses next to it, turning them into waste. It occurs only in the third part of the game.

Stalker

types of necromorphs

This is one of the most dangerous types of necromorphs, which is found in the second and third parts of the trilogy. Stalkers, similar to frosted birds, differ not only in strength and tremendous speed, but also in developed intelligence. They hunt in groups, tracking their prey from behind cover and trying to lure it to an open area, and then they attack sharply and inflict a severe blow with their beak. And they do this in turn, not allowing themselves to recover from a previous attack.

In a battle with these necromorphs, try to take a position in the corner or at least press your back to some kind of shelter. So you protect your back. And when you see an approaching stalker, use stasis to slow down the enemy. And you will have time to cut off his limbs, unless, of course, another necromorph goes on the attack.
