It is believed that the ancient recipe belongs to the monks who passed it to one simple Greek family, and she, in turn, spread the liquor throughout the island. However, the original recipe has been lost, and what is being offered on Rhodes today is just one of the variations.
Usually tourists are brought to the mountain and the temple as part of excursion groups, since it is not easy to get here on their own: buses from the city of Rhodes leave for the mountain no more than two to four times a day. Tourists do not recommend choosing this tour for vacationers with young children.
