New friend
Alki-Alexander had an older sister, Marina. She has already turned 14 years old. The girl was quite strict in relation to her brother, she wanted to educate him as a good person.
In the summer they went to a pioneer camp. Alka began to homesick for his mother. He lay in bed and cried. Suddenly someone called out to him. In the dark, the boy did not see his face, but realized that it was almost his age. The guy asked why he was crying. So an interesting conversation ensued, during which Sasha learned from a new friend that he has a lot of birds in his cages at home, and in the spring he lets them out. A friend said that his name is Vasya. The seven-year-old calmed down, listening to these conversations, and fell asleep.
When he woke up, the bed next to him was empty. Sanya went to look for Vaska in the camp, but no one knew this, because, as it turned out later, everyone called him Lapa, since the boy's name was Lapnikov. Marina had to cut off the bottom of the legs, and they turned into shorts.
Story four
The next part of the story is called “Gift”. A brief summary will also tell about her. The brother, who is seven, went with his sister and her friend to another camp to agree on a joint fire. The road was not easy, they walked through the forest, near a swamp. The prudent Alka took with him a flask of water. But when on the way back Marina asked him for a drink, he did not give it, saying that it was swamp water. It turns out that Alka in the pond caught fry and small frogs and brought this priceless gift to a friend who was lying in the camp prison and was ill.
Vaska had fry and frogs before, they were in the bank. But Marina took them, about which Lapa was grieving. So Alka pleased his friend. Although he himself was very thirsty, he endured in order to bring Vaska the gift he needed.

The fifth chapter, called "Drops are poking on the asphalt," is written on behalf of the boy. He tells how, in the city, they turned over a baby fungus with friends during the rain, turning it into a ship with a mast. As a result, they got wet and dirty in the mud.

Chapters 7-9
In the story “Teddy Hare”, the author writes that a friend of Vitka came to Alka and saw a toy. The boy began to laugh at Sanka and threw a teddy hare out the window. The guys in the yard began to play football with them, and the seven-year-old felt like a traitor. Vaska took the hare and sewed it up.
In the chapter “Journey to the White Giant”, it is narrated that the cosmonaut’s costume was sewn on Alka’s carnival . But other guys turned out to be similar. They went to the physics office and began to play astronauts - paving the route to the White Giant. Having heard the teacher’s steps, the children ran away, but Sanka did not have time. The teacher did not think that there was anyone in the office, and closed it with a key. However, after a while, classmates discovered the boy and presented him with a prize for the best suit.
Stories 10-14
In the chapter “Sorinka” the author tells that the wind Shurshun brought Alka into the eye of the mote. The neighboring girl offered to get her tongue, but the boy refused, went home, washed his eye, and the mote jumped out.
The chapter “City of Spring Birds” is about Shurka, who came from the north and fell ill. Alka entertains him, tells him about his friends, introduces Vaska. He gives Vasily his creation, on which fancy houses with colored glasses are painted.
While Shura was ill, the guys built bird houses according to his project and wrote on plywood under them that Shurka was the main architect.
Somehow, friends in the evening in the dark told different stories, after which they felt scared to go home. About this is described in the section "The Great Striped Monster". It turned out to be an old mattress.
The last chapter of “Night Trains” tells us that Igor, the elder cousin, came to the main character. He tells the seven year old about his unsuccessful love.
