From the name it can be seen that it stretches along the main waterway of the metropolis. It is the largest park in Moscow. This is a favorite vacation spot for residents of the capital. Therefore, guests of the city will be pleased to visit the park. Even if you are indifferent to natural beauties, there you will find many interesting things.
Despite the fact that the park has many corners untouched by civilization, it is impossible to call it a virgin forest. It is properly equipped for the cultural recreation of citizens. Where is the natural park "Moskvoretsky"
This is truly a vast territory, accounting for three and a half percent of the entire capital. The park stretches along the bed of the Moscow River, which is why it got such a name. The landscaped area stretches northwest of the center of the capital. The exact address - 18 Autumn Street - does not tell anyone who wants to take a walk in the park. After all, its territory is very large. It is interspersed with ravines, streams, canals and even residential streets. If we look at the map of the city, the Moskvoretsky park stretches from Sirloin in the south to Stroginsky Bay and the beaches in Tushino in the north.
How to get there
Based on the huge size of the territory (3660 ha), you can get here in different ways. If you are coming by car, follow the Rublevsky highway. The easiest way to get to the park is by metro. Based on which area of the green zone you want to get into, you need to go to the Filyovsky Park, Pionerskaya, Kuntsevskaya, Krylatskoye, Bagrationovskaya, Molodezhnaya, Polezhaevskaya, Schukinskaya or "Strogino" (3, 4 and 7 lines of the Moscow subway).
From the first four stations you need to walk about fifteen minutes. Others will have to be reached by ground public transport. From the station "Molodezhnaya" you can get by buses No. 691, 229 and 73. From Shchukinskaya trams number 15 and 10 follow there. You can come to Moskvoretsky park directly from the city center. To do this, take the trolleybus No. 2 at the Arbatskaya metro station. Tram No. 15 follows the Sokol to the park. This green massif has many entrances and is not fenced at all in some places, so you don’t have to walk along the fence.
Park components
The Moskva River Valley combined 22 ecological landscapes. We can say that this is a complex of Moscow parks, separated from each other by small canals or streets. Indigenous Muscovites know that it is composed of the Fili-Kuntsevsky forest, Krylatsky hills, Stroginsky, Mnevnikovsky, Kirov floodplains, the Shchukinsky Peninsula, Serebryany Bor and others.
Some parts of the park are truly untouched corners of nature. Others are equipped for sports and entertainment. Depending on the time of year, different parts of the array are visited. For example, in the summer the Moskvoretsky park in Strogino is more popular, since extensive, but, unfortunately, unsettled beaches stretch here. Getting to them is not difficult. You need to get to the Strogino metro station (Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line) and walk along Tallinn Street. Swimming is allowed on the beaches of the artificial island of Serebryany Bor.
Historical Park "Moskvoretsky"
The fact that the lands on which the capital of Russia now stands have been inhabited for a long time, the results of archaeological excavations testify. In the park were found traces of the sites of ancient people of the fifth millennium BC, a tool of the Bronze Age. The mounds of the 9th-11th centuries prove that these places were mastered by the Slavic tribe Vyatichi.
Near Krylatsky bridge, literally three hundred meters, you can see the remains of the Kuntsevsky settlement. This settlement existed from the first millennium until the sixteenth century. The Moskvoretsky park can please visitors with other ancient monuments. In its western part there are two estates: Fili-Pokrovskoye and Kuntsevo, and on the bank of the Serebryanoborskaya floodplain - the Trinity-Lykovo estate. There are many ancient temples here. In Fili you can see the baroque church of the Intercession, in Krylatskoye - the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, south of Strogino - the Trinity of the Life-Giving.
Entertainment and sports
The Moskvoretsky park is well equipped for relaxation. On its vast territory laid special routes on which you can move on electric vehicles. There is also an Olympic cycle track. In winter, an ice rink and a ski center work. In summer, you can rent a boat, yacht, catamaran or water scooter, canoe for rowing along the canals, play golf.
