Many people associate howling with some mystical powers, they say, this is not good. He portends death or trouble. The reasons for such statements lie all in the same family relationship with the wolves. The fact is that for many of our ancestors, gray predators were one of the most serious misfortunes: they killed livestock,
poultry, and in hungry winters they did not shun people. Therefore, the wolf howl, which rang out near human habitation, simply could not symbolize something good - it meant only the proximity of the enemy. The very first reason for this behavior is the lack of communication. By their howl, like wolves, dogs indicate their location and desire to find their flock. Such signals are a peculiar way of communication between representatives of the species, and therefore it is not surprising that if one dog starts to conquer on the street, then all of its neighbors who join it, melodious or not very barking, will join it. Why are dogs howling? This reason may come from the first need - communication. It is his lack that provokes a dreary howl. And it is not necessary that a dog misses relatives - it could well be a longing for the owner, who, for example, went to work. And it can also be a signal of joy about his return.
Like many people, dogs are very sensitive to the lunar cycle, weather changes and impending thunderstorms, winds, earthquakes. They often perceive the moon as the sun due to black and white vision and believe that it is a threat to them - this is the reason why the dog howls at night.
Also, with the help of a howl, a dog can express physical pain if he is sick. If other causes are not suitable, perhaps the whole thing is hunger and cold.
Well and one more reason why the dog howls - it can sing along to music, heard car alarms or similar sounds. Often a howl accompanies the dog's favorite melody, because if he does not like the music or sound, he will simply try to leave.
So dog howl is often just fun and a way to socialize for your pet. You should not attach special importance to it if you are sure that the dog is healthy, does not experience hunger or cold. It is better to play with him or go for a walk to distract your pet from howls that might not please your relatives or neighbors.
