During times of war and numerous Arctic expeditions, people brutally dealt with their loyal helpers - there are often cases when animals are simply thrown in the cold, condemning them to a painful death from hunger. By 1947, the breed numbered only 30 (!) Surviving Alaskan Malamutes.

In the second half of the twentieth century, a malamute dog came to Europe. Today it takes pride of place in the thirty most popular and popular breeds.
