Malamute dog belongs to the oldest arctic sled breed. It got its name from the Alaskan tribe of Malemuth, which settled along the coast of the Kotzebue Strait in western Alaska.

Experts rightly believe that the period from 1909 to 1918 is a decline in the breed. Over time, the passion for booty gave way to sports excitement, and the Americans became keen on sled racing. Quite unexpectedly, this saved the breed - not a flock of random mestizos was required for racing, but purebred and purebred animals.
In 1926, the breeding of malamutes began. In nineteen thirty-fifth, the breed received official recognition. A binding standard was published and a breed club was organized. The Malamute dog began to be divided into two distinct groups - “Kotzebue” - low animals, with beautiful heads, having a wolf color, and “MLut” - large dogs of various colors.
During times of war and numerous Arctic expeditions, people brutally dealt with their loyal helpers - there are often cases when animals are simply thrown in the cold, condemning them to a painful death from hunger. By 1947, the breed numbered only 30 (!) Surviving Alaskan Malamutes.
In the second half of the twentieth century, a malamute dog came to Europe. Today it takes pride of place in the thirty most popular and popular breeds.
