The personal plot always wants to be made as beautiful as possible. Each owner wants his creation to attract the eyes of all neighbors and guests at home. This is best done in the case when each element of the site is not only beautiful, but also harmoniously connected with other parts of the landscape. This is especially true of paths that simply have to be beautiful and neat. To achieve this effect, you need technology for laying paving slabs on the sand. We’ll talk about her today.
First, a trench is dug up, in professional jargon called a "trough". It is necessary to dig to a depth of at least 0.25 m, but keep in mind that the top edge of the paving slabs should not stick out above the track itself after laying. After that, pure quality gravel is poured into the bottom of the ditch. If the track is supposed to be used exclusively for pedestrians, the technology of laying paving slabs on sand involves backfilling 0.15 m of gravel.
In the case when you fill up gravel for the path along which cars will pass, its layer should be at least 0.3 m thick. After filling it is carefully rammed, and for this purpose it is best to use a special rammer.
After pebbles, sand is poured. We highly recommend using a river, the size of which grains of sand is in the range of 3-5 mm. In this case, it will ideally perform a drainage function, and the tiles will stand stably in place without the threat of erosion.
The minimum thickness of this layer is at least 5 cm. Like pebbles, it is carefully rammed and slightly spilled with water. After a couple of hours, the ramming is carried out again, bringing the surface to a perfectly even state. Of course, the technology of laying paving slabs on sand involves the use of a building level.
On this preparatory work can be considered completed. Sketch the sample in advance by laying out the alleged track pattern at least a meter in length near the ditch: this will give you a ready-made example before your eyes. Along the longitudinal line of the trench, make markings in advance that will indicate the location of the curbstone.
Experts say that the rules for laying paving slabs in the best way provide for laying elements diagonally, since in this case it is easier to maintain the correct pattern and direction of installation. Please note that for better water flow, it is necessary to lay the tiles in such a way that there are 5 cm of slope per square meter of area. A small gap is left between the curbstone and the edge of the tile to absorb water.
The material is laid as tightly as possible pressing it to the sand, using a
rubber mallet and the building level, bringing to the desired rate. If it is not possible to achieve the immobility of the tile, it must be raised, add sand and repeat the procedure. Of course, all elements must be strictly horizontally in relation to each other.
Between them there must be a gap of 5 mm. After you finish the track, the technology of laying paving slabs on the sand involves filling sand on it and rubbing it between the tiles. To do this, you need to use a brush with a soft pile, as it will not allow you to leave any traces or scratches on the material.
But the laying of paving slabs (the instructions for this process were higher) ends only after the track is compacted with a vibrating rammer.
