Making jewelry for yourself and people dear to your heart is an entertaining affair that many like. Do you want to try it yourself? We bring to your attention a simple and interesting lesson on creating a cool bracelet, for the manufacture of which you will need a waxed cord and leather, some accessories and, of course, a good mood and imagination!
Where do we start?
First of all, find a leather and waxed cord - both of which you will need 1.5 meters. Experienced hand-made lovers can decide what to make a waxed cord with their own hands is a good idea, but for beginners we are not advised to do this and recommend just purchasing everything you need in the store. The colors of the cords can be any - it depends on your preference. Then find a suitable chain with round links, as in the picture, you will need approximately 40 cm. For the chain, pick a nut made of metal of a similar color. That's all, you can start manufacturing!
So, let's get started ...
First, fold the leather lace in half so that you get a loop. It should freely, but not too much, enter the nut - this will be the clasp of the bracelet. Now tie the waxed cord on the leather cord so that a small loop remains, and wrap it several times - this will be the beginning of your bracelet.
Weave the chain
After you fastened the waxed cord to a leather cord, it's time to proceed to the next stage - to attach a chain to your bracelet. This is not difficult: we attach a chain to a leather lace so that its end rests against the beginning of your bracelet, into a waxed cord. We hold the chain with one hand, and with the other we fix it on the bracelet, wrapping it all with the same waxed cord.
We continue to weave a bracelet
The beginning has been made, the matter is small: you need to continue in the same spirit, collecting your bracelet. Try to do the same as shown in the figures - let the waxed cord is located between the round links of your chain. Take your time and be careful, and then you can easily make a bracelet from a waxed cord that will look harmonious with completely different clothes!
We approach the finale and make a fastener
Periodically try on a bracelet on your hand - in theory, it should sit tight enough, hugging your hand, but without interfering with blood circulation. Ideally, the bracelet should be twisted around the wrist twice, but if you don’t like it, you can make it shorter or longer, depending on your preference. Once you understand that the length of your bracelet is just the way you want to see it, proceed to the final stage and attach the clasp. It is not difficult to do this: first, make the winding in the same way as you did at the beginning. Then tie the waxed and leather shoelaces with a knot, tie a nut to them and fix it with another knot. Try to tie knots tightly, but at the same time smoothly and accurately.
Here is your bracelet and ready!
Try it on your hand, asking for help from someone who is nearby - to wear such a bracelet alone is not too easy. This, by the way, is compensated by the fact that you can wear such a bracelet without removing it - it will not interfere with your usual activities.
