The most beautiful openwork patterns look in a thin cloth, that is, knitted from fine yarn. Summer items can be knitted from cotton or linen yarn. Products are light and not “hot”. From yarn with the addition of silk, you can associate a product that belongs to an evening group of dresses, for example, a black openwork bolero for an evening dress or a low-necked top for a female tuxedo.
In winter and autumn, the pattern with knitting needles “Leaves” (the scheme to which will be described later) is best done from woolen and semi-woolen yarn. It is warm and, despite the lace, will warm you. For such patterns, mohair is perfect. This is a yarn of goat hair, very soft, fluffy, airy. There is no pure mohair yarn, so it always comes in a mixed composition, for example, with acrylic or silk. From mohair beautiful shawls, stoles, dresses with fluffy skirts are obtained.

The principle of knitting "Leaves"
Patterns for knitting with leaflets are obtained on the canvas by alternating yarn and two or three loops knitted together with a slope in one direction or another. First comes the expansion of the picture, then the narrowing. It is usually symmetrical about the middle. The pattern rapport is usually 10 to 15 rows high. That is how many of them will be needed to knit out a full leaf.

Diamond-shaped "Leaves"
One of the easiest options. The pattern with knitting needles “Leaves” (the diagram in the photo to the beige pattern) consists of diamond-shaped leaves arranged in a checkerboard pattern.
The rapport is 15 rows high and 10 loops wide.
- The first row - 2 front loops, then two loops together, inclined to the right side (that is, behind the front wall), then there is a crochet, one front, again a crochet, two together, inclined to the left side, now 3 front. The rapport is over.

Oval "Leaves"
How to knit the pattern “Leaves” with knitting needles? Another scheme for oval leaflets.
Rapport is 24 rows high.

Most often, these openwork ornaments are used in knitting stoles or scarves. Due to the fact that the pattern goes from top to bottom, it is more suitable for elongated products. A knee-length dress will also look very beautiful. A vertical drawing will visually stretch the figure, which means to slim. For a long summer skirt, the pattern is also well suited.
