The tale of Korney Chukovsky about Mukha-Tsokotuha will soon turn 100 years old. However, it is still loved by children and often becomes the basis of scenarios for matinees in kindergartens and elementary schools. How to make a costume-fly Tsokotuhi do it yourself, this article will tell.
Dress
The easiest way to make any children's dress for the matinee is to rummage through the “chests” and find old things that can work as its basis. For example, in our case, dresses and skirts from blue, green or yellow satin are suitable. In addition, a true salvation for those who need to make a Tsukotuha-Fly costume with their own hands will be a gymnastics leotard from a biflex with long sleeves.
Next, you will have to buy a little tulle and make a tu-tu skirt from it (see below). A satin bolero vest will complement the suit.
Tu-Tu skirt
If you do not like to sew, then this option will be the best for you.
You will need a satin ribbon and tulle. Further:
- strips of equal width and two times longer than the desired length of the skirt are cut from tulle;
- take one of the strips and tie it around the ribbon, slightly departing from the edge;
- tighten the loop until it stops;
- They do the same with other stripes of tulle until all the space equal to the circumference of a person’s waist is filled.
- lay out the skirt on the table and cut off the uneven ends of the ribbons.
The outfit will turn out even more beautiful if you take a tulle of two colors and alternate stripes.
Wings are the most important thing
To make a costume of a Fly-Tsokotuha with your own hands, first of all, you need to figure out what and how to sew or craft this element.
Several options are possible:
- A frame in the form of two wings of the correct form is made of a durable wire. Tighten with a transparent cloth. The edge is manually trimmed with an oblique trim. Draw on fabric with a special contour with a sparkle of veins. If you wish, stick or sew on the wings along the edge of the sequin. Two colored elastic bands need to be sewn onto the wings so that the child can wear them like a backpack.
- From a transparent black tulle or organza sew a cloak with a hood, gathered at the neck. Behind it, they cut it to make wings. If the fabric is not loose, then the edges can not be processed or "walk" on them with a lighter flame.
- The wings can also be sewn from the satin of a suitable color in the manner described above. In this case, they will need a contrast lining, preferably also shiny.
Headpiece: option 1
This element of the costume of the Fly-Tsokotuha do it yourself can also be made, and in various ways.
Well, if at home there is a hat from black knitwear. If not, it can be easily sewn, for example, from an old father’s t-shirt. The cut is the simplest - in the form of a semicircle slightly elongated on the cropped side. On the hat you need to sew "eyes" from a satin of a suitable color. It is better to take shreds from some other component of the costume of the Fly-Tsokotuha. With your own hands, “eyes” need to be sewn onto a hat, having previously put a little synthetic winterizer. You can make them more original by running on a typewriter with a thread of contrasting color. It remains to sew the “nose”. It can be made from a thick cord. Its end must be hidden inside the ball, sewn from the same fabric as the eyes, and pre-packed with padding polyester.
Headpiece: option 2
If, when creating a costume for a Fly-Tsokotuha with your own hands, you prefer to work with paper and glue rather than sewing, then decorate the child’s head with a crown. To do this, cut out a strip of 5-6 cm thickness from cardboard of the desired color and stick on the back with a Velcro fastener to make it easier to fix it on the girl’s head. Then, two mugs must be made of golden foil. It will be beautiful if they are inserted into the “frame” of black velvet paper or glued to the edges of sequins. Then you need to take a table non-sharp knife and, using a ruler, draw intersecting lines on the eyes so that a lattice is obtained. The eyes are fixed on the hoop, and antennae, also made of cardboard and wrapped in gold foil, are glued in its center.
Coin
As you know, in Chukovsky’s tale “a fly went across the field, a fly found a money”. It remains to make a coin. Again, a foil is useful, preferably a golden color and thicker. From it you need to cut two circles with a diameter of a tea saucer or a small plate. Then the inscription 1 kopeck is minted from the wrong side. This is a little complicated, because you need to make the inscription mirror. If you are at a loss, then enter these words on the computer in a graphic editor and “mirror”, then it will be easier to “engrave” the foil. Ready mugs are turned over and glued on both sides to a cardboard circle. All! The coin is ready!
Accessories
Many mothers, making the costume of the Fly-Tsokotuha with their own hands (see photo above), come up with various accessories for it. For example, high leggings with ties in the form of satin bows under the knees are well suited to a tulle skirt. They can be made, for example, from old leggings, decorating with sequins. In addition, you can sew over the black organza or kapron patch sleeves-gloves longer than the elbow and with a loop for the middle finger. They can also be decorated with sparkles. Cape wings will be attached to them, the manufacture of which is described above.
In some cases, the headgear can be replaced with a small top hat with a black veil, descending just below the eyes. It can be decorated with a beautiful flower made of fabric, which went to make the lining of the wings.
Costume Spider from "Fly-Tsokotuhi"
You can make such an outfit with your own hands, taking as a basis some black turtleneck and old trousers with fairly wide legs. They need to be turned into breeches or harem pants. For this, the pants are shortened, tucked and threaded elastic bands. Further, a rather long cloak is made of black tulle or mesh fabric. Stripes of black fabric, which should represent the legs of a spider, are glued or sewn onto it, and a web is drawn with a contour for black fabric.
Now you know how to make a Tsukotuha-Fly costume for a girl with your own hands. Of course, if you have absolutely no free time, you can always rent such an outfit. However, working with your mother on such a costume will be remembered by your baby for a long time and will become one of her pleasant childhood memories.
