So, to use a used foreign car in Russia, you first need to purchase it, and then go through the customs clearance procedure for cars. According to the Customs Code, customs clearance of cars in Russia, if we are talking about the registration procedure, is the same in all regions.
When buying a car on your own, remember the following points: you need to get an invoice, a receipt from the seller indicating his passport data (this must be done for your own safety, as sometimes scammers immediately sell a car when they sell a car). transit numbers, transported. At the border, you will need to go through the procedure of "customs clearance" - or clearance.
Customs clearance of cars from Germany is carried out in several stages. Registration at the border, settlement of customs duties, paperwork at the destination and only after all these procedures - registration of the vehicle in the traffic police. You can also instruct the customs clearance of the car to an agency specializing in delivering cars to the buyer's address and taking care of all the procedures, but in this case the costs will increase by about 1600-1800 euros.
A transit declaration indicating the period of customs clearance of the car is drawn up by a customs broker. At the border, the owner or carrier himself (they must have a document allowing them to clear the car - Ausfuhrerklaerung - it is issued in electronic form) must declare the car to be imported by a customs officer and issue a customs passenger declaration. This is the TD-6 form, which will need to be submitted to the customs at the place of residence in order to complete the procedure. In addition to the passport, it will be necessary to provide: a technical passport of the car, a deed of purchase or an invoice (invoice), documents ensuring the payment of customs payments (guarantee certificate, guarantee agreement, etc.).
The total cost of customs clearance will depend on several factors: on the cost of the car, its age, engine size, customs assessment, as well as on whether the owner is an individual or legal entity. At a minimum, customs clearance will cost 48-54% of the cost of the car, and the older the car, the more expensive the procedure. It is most advantageous to import cars no older than 5 years, and best of all - up to 3 years, otherwise the cost of payments may exceed the cost of the car.
