All the time, the human body needs vitamins, the deficiency of which is especially acute in the winter, when there is nothing fresh in stores or on the market, and what is there is grown with a lot of nitrates, which certainly will not bring any benefit. Everyone has long known that fresh herbs is a very good source of vitamins, so many housewives with the advent of autumn begin to think about how to grow herbs on the windowsill.
Growing greens in an apartment environment (and in any season) is a very simple matter that can only bring good results - itβs enough to do everything right.
How to grow green onions on the windowsill
This type of greenery is the most unpretentious and in a residential environment it is easy to easily receive a regular βharvestβ of green onions. As a rule, this is done by planting bulbs in the ground or by ordinary forcing, which, unlike the first method, is much simpler and more common. In order to grow thick onion greens on the windowsill, just put the bulb with its roots down in a glass of water and after a while you can cut the freshest greens in order to add it to some dish. It will be very good if you constantly change the water in a bowl with onions - 1-2 times a day.
If you decide to grow green onions by planting bulbs in the ground, then for this you will need nothing at all: a box, earth and, in fact, the onion itself. Before planting, you need to moisten the earth a little, and then just lay on it, slightly pressing down, the onion heads, with their roots down. Initially, a box with onions needs to be kept warm, and only then can it be put on a windowsill.
How to grow dill on a windowsill
Unlike onions, dill is grown only in the land, which should be light and rich in nutrients. Try to choose a well-lit windowsill.
Seeds need to be planted only in watered ground, simply sprinkling them on top of its layer. Over time, they will sprout, and soon you can cut green dill grown in your own apartment.
If you suddenly have a desire to grow green dill throughout the year, you can plant seeds every 30-40 days.
How to grow parsley on a windowsill
In order to grow good greens on the windowsill, you can go to the store and get there root vegetables of parsley, which should be fresh and healthy. The most suitable root should be about 2 cm in diameter. When choosing, give preference to those that have the whole upper part remaining, that is, there are kidneys.
When planting root vegetables in the ground, watch for two points: the distance between them (it should not be less than 6 cm), and also that you do not fall asleep on the upper buds - this will not allow greenery to break out.
As soon as you have finished disembarking, immediately put the box in a cold place for two weeks (in winter a warm balcony is perfect). As for watering during this period - it should not be plentiful, but make sure that the soil is always wet.
After two weeks, the box with parsley can be taken out to a warmer place where the temperature reaches 18 degrees and after a while cut fresh parsley.
Thus, if you start to grow herbs on the windowsill, you will always be provided with vitamins. And besides this, you can significantly save your family budget by buying greens, which, alas, is necessary in the process of preparing almost any dish.
In addition to dill, parsley and green onions, other greens can be grown on the windowsill. Leaf lettuce is very easily and quickly grown. In addition, celery can be grown - the process is similar to growing parsley.
