For the finishing of buildings decorative plaster "Ceresite" is widely used. Such a coating will last a long time, it is not exposed to moisture and gives the base an attractive appearance. The manufacturer offers various types of dry mixes, one of which is Ceresit ST 24 plaster.

The material is used to prepare the surface for decorative finishes. The main component of the plaster is cement. Various additives improve the viscosity of the material and its adhesion to the surface. This makes the treated base even, smooth.
There are a number of advantages that the composition of “Ceresit ST 24” has. Its characteristics are as follows:
- Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
- The layer thickness can reach 3 cm.
- Frost resistance (withstands up to 50 cycles).
The material consumption is 1.2 kg per 1 m 2 of the base when applying a layer 1 mm thick.
Application area
"Ceresite ST 24" is used for processing cellular concrete. But it can also be applied to other surfaces close to it in structure:
- Cement-sand mixture plaster.
Plaster "Ceresit ST 24" is intended for sealing scratches, cracks, holes and other roughnesses of the base. A layer with a thickness of 0.3-3 cm is allowed. These works prepare the surface for decorative decoration. It can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Performance of work
Before applying the plaster, it is necessary to prepare the base. To do this, it is cleaned of dirt, dust. Broken off parts of the surface are removed. In some cases, a primer is applied.
The plaster solution is applied only to a moistened surface.
Next, a solution of "Ceresit ST 24" is prepared. The dry mixture is diluted with water at the rate of 5.5-6 liters per 25 kg bag (0.23 liters per 1 kg of mixture). Water should not be too cold. Recommended temperature is 15-25 degrees. The composition is thoroughly mixed until a homogeneous mass. When using a drill with a nozzle, the speed should not exceed 600 rpm.
The amount of added water may vary depending on the type of work performed. If a layer with a thickness of up to 3 cm will be applied (to fill in the recesses, cracks), the volume of water is taken at the lower value. In the case of a thin layer of water, more is added.
The mixture is stirred twice at intervals of 5 minutes.
To apply the solution, use spatulas, graters and other tools.
To get a flat surface (for example, for painting), putty is wiped with a plastic spatula. This must be done before the initial setting of the solution (from 5 minutes to half an hour after application, depending on temperature). Additionally, you do not need to grind the surface.
Under normal conditions and the presence of ventilation inside the room, decorative decoration can be started in 3 days. Outside, the average drying time is 7 days.
Notes
"Ceresit ST 24" is applied to the base, the temperature of which should be in the range of 5-30 degrees with the "+" sign. Optimum working conditions are air temperature of 20 degrees and humidity of 60%. The setting and drying times may vary if these conditions are not met.
During the hardening of the mixture, it must be protected from sunlight and high humidity. At this time, the air temperature should be positive.
You can use the prepared solution for 2 hours, until it dries. The ability of the mixture to retain moisture is 95%.
Plaster is packaged in hermetically sealed bags weighing 25 kg.
Store the dry mixture "Ceresit ST 24" is necessary in a dry place, protected from moisture, where sunlight does not penetrate. The mixture can be stored in unopened packaging for 1 year from the date of manufacture. If these storage conditions are violated, the quality of the material may deteriorate.
The composition of the plaster includes cement. Therefore, when working must comply with the rules of labor protection. Protect eyes and skin from dust. Use personal protective equipment. In particular, work is carried out with gloves to protect the skin of the hands.
