Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg is an innovative project, within the framework of which a modern business cluster is being created in the Primorsky district. As a platform for business, in parallel, it will perform public functions. The skyscraper with a height of 462 m will become the new symbol of the "Northern Palmyra". The area of ββthe land plot is 170,000 m 2 . The volume of construction of buildings is 400,000 m 2 .
Targets and goals
One of the key tasks reflected in the development strategy of St. Petersburg is the decentralization of business activity, the formation of new points of attraction. The Lakhta Center project in St. Petersburg fully meets this time requirement. A business cluster will appear in a densely populated, dynamically developing region, which will provide thousands of high-paying jobs for residents of the north of the city, as well as create conditions for the development of the services sector.
The construction of the Lakhta Center will contribute to the liberation of the historical part of the city from an unusual business function, which means it will make it possible to keep the architectural appearance of the center of St. Petersburg unchanged. Attracting investment and business development in new business areas will increase the city's budget to address urgent urban development and social problems.
Concept
Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg should become an example of an optimal balance between public space and office space. The concept provides for the construction of:
- the largest business center in the Northern capital;
- sports complex;
- educational park "World of Science";
- public viewing platform;
- exhibition spaces, amphitheater;
- shops, restaurants, cafes and other facilities.
The business function and comfortable public spaces will be a harmonious addition to the predominantly sleeping Primorsky district.
Infrastructure
In parallel with the construction of a skyscraper, the problems of transport in the north-west of the city are being solved. Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg is located not far from the high-speed Western diameter and the Ring Road. This will allow you to quickly get to both Pulkovo Airport and the main stations.
In addition, the route connecting Peter and Finland runs through the territory of the Primorsky district. Also, the Lakhta Center will serve the development of sea and river urban transport.
Ecology
The new business district is designed to harmonize the proximity of man and nature. The environmental friendliness of the complex will be achieved through green spaces in the territory, the creation of "green" atriums inside buildings.
The Lakhta Center project in St. Petersburg has received confirmation of the international environmental standard Leed Gold. Unloading roads in the area and the development of environmentally friendly modes of transport (express rail, passenger river transport) will lead to a significant reduction in emissions and an improvement in the environmental situation.
Energy saving
The largest initiator of the project was the Gazprom Group. As the country's energy leader, the company seeks to implement the most ambitious energy-saving technologies. The platform for innovation will be Lakhta Center.
The progress of the construction of the public-business complex involves the creation of the so-called energy-efficient district. This is an urban environment in which the idea of ββsaving electric and thermal energy can be traced at every stage: from building design to installing special equipment and laying utilities.
Thanks to green building technologies, the complex will consume significantly less energy. Installation of a unified dispatching system (situational center) of the state of structures of structures and all engineering systems is envisaged.
It is expected that energy saving will be about 40% due to:
- Highly effective heat-insulating facade designs.
- LED lighting and auto light control.
- Presence sensors.
- Absorption cooling / heating systems.
- Shading constructions.
- Heat recovery ventilation.
- Panoramic glazing.
- Natural light.
- Functional zones for metering the consumption of electric / thermal energy.
- Ice storage for air conditioning / ventilation.
- Energy-saving lighting for elevators, dimming backlight indications.
Lakhta Center on the map of St. Petersburg
The architectural concept of the project reflects the historical traditions of St. Petersburg and innovative ideas. A local dominant is included in the predominantly horizontal landscape, and the adjacent buildings reflect the connection with the water space - the dynamics of water, the luster of ice crystals, and the flow of energy are embodied in the form of buildings.
The complex is being built directly on the coast of the Gulf of Finland. Accordingly, it will become part of the 21st century St. Petersburg sea facade, which will also form a new passenger port, a stadium on Krestovsky Island and pylons of cable-stayed bridges of Western high-speed diameter.
Lakhta Center: construction progress
The skeleton of the skyscraper and neighboring buildings is more than half completed. The finished building will be the largest among business centers in Europe - with a height of 462 m and a total area of ββ400,000 m 2 . The new public and business district will enhance the status of St. Petersburg as a cultural capital and will become an additional center for attracting tourists.
In the "Lakhta Center" will be created:
- The highest public observation deck in the city.
- New embankment with an amphitheater facing the water.
- Multifunctional transformer room.
- Vast public areas for events.
- Art galleries and exhibition spaces.
The construction of the main building is expected to be completed in 2018.
