But before fulfilling this mission, you should consider: do you want to leave the institute safe and sound, but at the same time lose your friendship with the Brotherhood of Steel? If you like the second faction, then when this quest occurs, you need to contact the paladins and tell them about the purpose of the quest. In this case, the quest will be interrupted, and a new mission will begin - "Military production". But we'll talk about her another time. Now you are waiting for the passage of the mission Fallout 4 "Mass Fusion", available if you decide to support the Institute.
Start
Before you begin the task, you need to find it somewhere. However, this is what usually happens in Fallout 4. Where does Mass Fusion come from? This quest will appear after completing the mission "The New Image of Humanity." After the finale of this mission, the player will receive a message stating that he needs to contact Dr. Ellie Fillmore, who will talk about the sortie into the Mass Fusion building. In this location you have to remove the nuclear reactor, which will provide the Institute with electricity for many years. After a conversation with Ellie, go to the center of the Institute, go upstairs using the elevator, to the teleport that brought you to this building.
Mission preparation
Before completing this mission, it is worth seriously stocking up with first-aid kits, ammunition, strong armor and lethal weapons. After all, completing the Fallout 4 Mass Fusion quest will make you a sworn enemy of the Brotherhood of Steel, and this is a formidable opponent. It is still imperative to bring along a large number of anti-radiation drugs and appropriate armor, since your path lies through the premises with a large background.
Depart to destination
Using the teleport, the main character will be on the roof of the building, and from the first second he will have to enter into a rather hot battle. After the battle, go to the room with the stairs and the elevator. To go further, you need to find a pass and a hologram with a password, without which it is impossible to continue the quest Fallout 4 Mass Fusion. Where does the pass lie? Finding it is quite simple, it lies on a table decorated with the logo of the building, and there is also a cassette with recordings nearby.
It is worth noting that you can only find these items when completing the story quest “Mass Fusion”. And if you, traveling through the wasteland, accidentally wandered into this building, then you will not be able to go beyond the elevator, because a card with a password appears only with a quest marker.
In search of a reactor
Go to the terminal with a marker and open it with a password. After reading the message, you will receive the task to go down to the basement. This can only be done with an elevator. It will be a rather difficult descent, because the mechanism moves very slowly, and from all sides you will be attacked by the paladins of the Brotherhood of Steel. Here all stocks of cartridges and first-aid kits will be useful to you.
At one of the levels, the elevator gets stuck, and you will need to go over to the rusty knife switch on the wall. Pulling it, you again start the lifting mechanism, after which you can continue the quest Fallout 4 "Mass Fusion" and go to the basement.
Mission finale
Below you will find a room with a wide panoramic window overlooking the center of a nuclear reactor. Go through the door on the left. In the next room there will be a huge level of radiation, and if you did not stock up on the necessary armor, a suit that can be found in the box behind the door, along with anti-radiation drugs, will help protect you a little. We go into the dressing room by clicking on the desired button, activate the cleaning. Now, the life of the protagonist depends on the speed of our actions, because from this moment you will begin to receive a huge dose of radiation every second. We quickly move to the ladder on the right, go up and, pressing the lever, we take out the core of the reactor. Then we run out of the room as soon as possible and close the doors with the button.
Do not think that this is the end of all the adventures. Ahead of us is a battle with a robot armed with a gatling laser and a protector. In order not to fight with them at the same time, it is better not to leave the dressing room yet, because a large robot will not be able to enter here, and the protector is not so strong. After defeating them, get ready for the appearance of two shtumotron. Fighting them is quite difficult, so you should not go on the attack. It is better to maneuver and run away, firing, while watching the charging of the lasers on their head. After defeating this technique, you will meet a couple more turrets, but they are not so strong.
We set off for the elevator and begin our climb: on the ground floor the hero will witness the battle between the Brotherhood of Steel and the Institute. And there are two options for further action: we can stay to help the allies, which is optional, or proceed to the top. Returning to the Institute, we talk with Ellie, to whom we hand over our Mass Fusion assignment (Fallout 4). This quest has been completed, but we still have many adventures in the wasteland.
