The lenticular cloud is quite rare in nature and always, if there are people nearby, makes a huge impression on them. These are huge accumulations of water vapor of unusual shapes and colors. Sometimes clouds look like an unidentified flying object, sometimes like masses from the Solaris movie, and sometimes they are just funny and bizarre. Such clusters have several names: lenticular clouds, lenticular, discoid. Despite the abundance of names, scientists have not fully figured out the reasons for the appearance of these bizarre masses of water vapor. Only the circumstances in which this is possible are known. It is believed that a lenticular cloud can appear between two layers of air or on the crests of air waves. In addition, scientists know the conditions of their existence - they remain motionless, no matter how strong the wind at the height where the cluster is located.
Causes of occurrence
Scientists suggest that the air flow above the obstacles forms formal waves of air in which the process of condensation of water vapor occurs continuously. It reaches the “dew point” and evaporates again with descending jets of air. The process occurs many times. Thus, a lenticular cloud appears. Usually it hangs at an altitude of up to 15 kilometers on the leeward side of mountain peaks or ridges and does not change its position all the time of its existence. Conversely, the appearance of these clusters in the sky is evidence that the atmosphere has a high moisture content and strong horizontal jets of air. As a rule, this is due to the approach of the atmospheric front. Masses appear in good weather. This characterizes lenticular clouds. Photos show this.
The first hypothesis of the process of occurrence of discoid clouds
The electric charge of the planet Earth creates an electric field on the surface of the object. On hills such as ridges of ridges, mountain peaks and rocks, it is amplified almost 3 times. In addition, there are electromagnetic fields on the Earth’s surface that occur either underground or in the ionosphere. The latter are associated with electron vibrations between the poles and have a frequency of 2 to 8 Hz. Such waves are heard by animals, for example, shortly before an earthquake. These fields, when passing through the rocks, generate sound waves, which form zones of low or high pressure. At a minimum of amplitude, conditions arise for the condensation of water vapor. The lenticular cloud is a visualization of the process.
The second hypothesis of the process of occurrence of discoid clouds
An underground source of electromagnetic fields may be water, which boils in the bowels of the earth. This may be liquid in the vent of a volcano at great depths, reservoirs in faults or underground lakes. Cavitation processes generate sound waves in the rocks, which, in turn, form an electromagnetic field through the piezoelectric effect. If they hit the earth’s surface in an electric field with high rates, then air ionizes. Under certain thermodynamic conditions, vapor condenses on charged particles, similar to processes in a Wilson chamber. This forms the lenticular cloud. In this case, it becomes clear why the discoid masses are motionless - the source of electromagnetic radiation by the wind cannot be moved.
The third hypothesis of the process of occurrence of discoid clouds
In the sky we observe various clouds. Types of clouds depend on the conditions of their formation. Lenticular masses can also appear from freezing water. The generation of an electromagnetic field in this process has been repeatedly recorded by scientists during various experiments. It can be freezing of water in the vent of a volcano or on the slopes of mountains. The power of electromagnetic radiation is amplified, the amplitude of the frequency of its existence determines the number of layers in the lenticular cloud and the distance between them. In addition, the shape of the discoid masses may depend on the speed of the water freezing process or on the large temperature difference along the mountain slopes.
Amazing and mysterious lenticular clouds
In addition, many natural scientists - amateurs and professionals - believe that the appearance of lenticular masses is associated with geopathic and geoactive zones of the Earth. Moreover, clouds can show the size of this area. The clusters are fixed in the zone of electromagnetic radiation emerging from the bowels, therefore, they do not move. The life spans of lenticular clouds are different. Others live for an hour, and then disappear. An unexpected case was recorded in Kamchatka. In the upper reaches of the Bar-Burgazy river, a four-layer lenticular cloud lasted for one and a half days, then it began to rotate, flatten and turn into a luminous ball, like a ball lightning. Natural self-luminous formation accelerated upward.
