Orlov comes from Siberian places. Born 04/16/1928 in the village of Borodinka, Krapivensky district of the Kemerovo region. Parents are teachers of a rural school.
He studied at the place of birth from 1935 to 1945. Like most peers of his age, he was impressed by the victory of the USSR, was ready to devote himself to serving the patronymic. To do this, went to the naval military school of the city of Vladivostok. He studied there for two years.
After graduating from college, he continued his military education at the walls of the Leningrad Naval Academy. However, he did not study there for long. Pleurisy disease was the reason for his deduction for health reasons.
I didn’t drop out of school. In 1949 he was accepted for distance learning at the Pedagogical Institute of the city of Chelyabinsk. He taught history at school. He created a school orchestra, he took an active part in it, played the violin and performed songs.
Pedagogical Institute graduated in three years, having mastered a five-year training program. In the same period, he developed his first system in the field of human psychology, which he called the "examiner's behavior management system."
Before defending a university diploma, Orlov learns that an order has been prepared for his expulsion, since he was not on the list of admissions for the third year exams. The incident was resolved when it turned out that Orlov had already successfully completed the fifth year and was admitted to passing state exams.
At the end of the Chelyabinsk University, Yuri Mikhailovich Orlov, who received a teacher’s diploma, continued his studies at the Moscow Philosophical Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1952, overcoming the competitive selection of 30 people per place. A year later, he continued to improve his knowledge in graduate school at the institute.
The beginning of professional activity
Orlov Yuri Mikhailovich began his professional career by teaching philosophy at a medical institute in the city of Chelyabinsk. At this place he worked from 1957 to 1962. Then he moved to the city of Borisoglebsk, where at the local pedagogical institute he worked as an assistant professor of the Department of Philosophy from 1962 to 1964.
Then he became the head of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy at the Pedagogical Institute of the city of Balashov (Saratov Region). He worked in this position from 1964 to 1971.
Also, from 1969 to 1971 Orlov gave lectures at the Institute for Advanced Studies of the Academy of Psychological Sciences on theories of experiment, the use of mathematical statistical methods in the psychological plane. Currently, this is the Psychological Institute Schukina (Moscow).
Moving to Moscow, continued research
To continue his scientific work, he moved to the capital, where he was accepted to the post of head of department at the Medical Academy. Sechenov. He worked in it from 1973 to 1993.
