All girls love to put their toys to bed. A cozy bed is the key to a serene toy sleep. We will tell you how to make a pillow for dolls with your own hands so that it becomes a decoration of the dollhouse. The whole process will take no more than half an hour.
Materials you will need
For work, you will need: two squares of fabric 5 by 5 cm, 22 centimeters of narrow lace, a little filler (synthetic winterizer or cotton wool), pins, scissors, a needle and thread. You can use a sewing machine, but it is quite possible to do without it.
Sewing instruction
Now consider how to make a pillow for dolls step by step.
- Take one of the squares of the fabric and gently pin the lace along its perimeter from the front, slightly departing from the edges. Make sure that the ends of the lace slightly overlap.
- Sew lace to the fabric. It should be something like this.
- Lay the second piece of fabric on top, also with its face inward, and pin it with pins.
- Sew the squares together, not forgetting to leave a hole on one side, through which our pillowcase can be turned out.
- Cut the excess fabric from the corners of the pillow with scissors so that it holds its shape better. The main thing is not to touch the seam.
- Turn out the pillowcase and fill it with filler.
- Bend inwardly the edges of the fabric around the remaining hole, making sure that the pieces of filler do not stick out, pin with a pin and sew.
The miniature pillow for the dolls is ready. To complement the kit, you can also sew a rectangular pillow 6 by 10 cm.
Another small life hack: how to make a pillow for dolls, if you don’t have a needle with a thread or you are simply too lazy to sew?
Instead of sewing, the pillow parts can simply be glued together using a hot glue gun. It may not turn out so neatly (there may be small smudges from the glue), but this method will allow you to significantly reduce the time it takes to make a doll pillow.
