Each region of the Russian Federation has its own emblem and flag, which has a certain semantic load. Many cities located beyond the Urals, choose as the main symbol of endemic, that is, those animals that are most often found in this area. So the Novosibirsk Region marked the spirit of sables on its coat of arms.
Description
The coat of arms of the Novosibirsk region was approved in 2003. Officially, it was enshrined with the help of law No. 119 - OZ "On the coat of arms of the Novosibirsk region."
For this symbol, the classic French form was chosen, which was widely used among heraldry in the Russian Federation.
The lower corners have a smooth rounding, and the middle part is characterized by a rounding to the bottom. On the sides, the coat of arms is made in silver, and the middle is painted in blue.
The main characters of the composition are two sables, which are depicted standing on their hind legs, with the front ones at that time holding a loaf with a salt shaker at the top. The lower part seems to be surrounded by a strip that is made in black on a white background, and in white on a blue.
Symbolism
The coat of arms of the Novosibirsk region was created taking into account the development of the region, based on its individual characteristics. Sable has long been a symbol of all Siberia, therefore, the authors chose these predatory animals as the main element. The golden loaf located in the center of the shield indicates benevolence and hospitality, as well as the abundance and developed branch of agriculture.
As for the color design of the coat of arms, it is also not chosen by chance. Silver color symbolizes purity of thoughts and soul, as well as boundless Siberian expanses and harsh winter. The azure pillar located in the middle of the composition characterizes the Ob River and all the water resources of the region.
The Trans-Siberian Railway runs along this territory, which also did not go unnoticed: on the coat of arms it was depicted in the form of a horizontal belt.
Description of the flag of the Novosibirsk region
The flag of the region is very similar to the coat of arms of the Novosibirsk region. It also depicts two sables holding a loaf. The background is a panel with stripes of red, white, blue and green. Their width is easiest to consider in relation to a length that will be 5: 3: 2: 3: 5.
Symbolism
The flag is designed taking into account the individual characteristics of the region. The main composition is similar to the coat of arms and has the same meaning as described above. The main difference between the two characters are the two widest stripes of green and red.
The green color represents rich Siberian land, abundance, vitality and the natural revival of the region. Initially, the second extreme lane was also made in green, but at the insistence of the Communist Party, it was changed to red. It is a symbol of the memory of the courage and heroism of the Novosibirsk men who valiantly defended their homeland during the war.

- Novosibirsk - the authors chose the French form of the shield, which is most characteristic of Russian heraldry. Diagonally located blue, wavy ribbon, which symbolizes the water resources of the area. The right field is green, which indicates health and natural wealth, and the left field is silver, it indicates the purity of thoughts and boundless Siberian snows. In the middle, there is a ribbon that turns into a golden bridge on a blue background, this element depicts the Trans-Siberian railway and the bridge across the Ob. Two sables act as shield holders. Above the shield flaunts a scarlet tower crown. At the bottom is a red bow with black arrows and a ribbon depicting the Russian tricolor.
- Berdsk - as the main composition, the authors chose the intersection of the Ob and Berd rivers. At the bottom of the shield is the Berdsk prison, from which the foundation of the city began. The background is made in green and silver colors.
- We are looking for - on a green background, in the form of a circle, an ear, gear and a construction trowel are depicted, between them is a cement plant. In the lower part there is a blue wave, and on top of the scarlet background is the name of the city.
- Kolyvan - one of the oldest emblems of Siberia, was approved on May 8, 1946. The Tomsk coat of arms is located in the upper part, and two haystacks connected by peaks are depicted on the silver background at the bottom. Next to them lies a sickle.
- Kuibyshev - like all other areas of the Novosibirsk region, the city chose the French shield as the basis. It is completely painted red, and in the middle is a golden, walking bull.
