Today, the optical coupling must meet high requirements, which can be very diverse. It all depends on the individual characteristics of certain types of couplings, but still it is quite realistic to single out the basic requests. First of all, the design of the product must be reliable and rational, while the ease of installation of optical fibers is of fundamental importance . Also, in no case should there be difficulties in the process of maintenance and operation.
To protect the welding spots and the transit loop, an optical coupler is often used. Its design allows splicing of several cables at once. In addition, it becomes possible to output a certain number of fibers to a specific network equipment. Due to the increased internal space, it is possible to organize transit modules taking into account all tolerances. It is allowed to install communications in sewer shafts, underground, on suspensions, poles and even on vertical surfaces.

Its features include a well-organized internal device, the ability to remove fibers without disconnecting the base trunk cable, as well as the originality of sealing. Many products are equipped with a housing made of special plastic, which helps to protect them from sudden changes in temperature, aggressive environmental influences and excessive moisture. A mechanical clamp is commonly used to help fix two parts. High-quality sealing can be achieved by a rubber ring placed around the perimeter.
Also, the optical coupling can be universal, representing an economical and multifunctional element. In this case, the two base parts are pulled together with screws. Installation of all couplings is carried out in strict accordance with the instructions created for a particular type of product. In the process of installation, the ends of the cable are fed into special closed-type machines with devices for connecting them. After installation, each element is equipped with a special marking ring, which is usually made of plastic or lead. It must indicate the product number, brand OK and the
name of the organization that carried out the work.
