Gas stoves for bottled gas. Installation and connection to the cylinder

In private homes, cottages and cottages where there is no centralized gas pipeline, gas stoves are used for bottled gas. Cylinders are filled with propane-butane liquefied mixture. It is not possible to convert natural gas (methane) to a liquid at room temperature. A gas stove with a cylinder is allowed for installation in a building with no more than two floors. No more than one device per house is allowed. Vessels must comply with the intended purpose, established standards and pass verification in a gas enterprise.

Equipment placement

To avoid troubles with gas leakage during use, the gas stove for bottled gas must be correctly connected to the source. It is better to install the cylinder on the street, but it must be taken into account that in frosty weather the gas does not evaporate well and the stove stops working normally. When installed outside the building, the container should be no closer than 0.5 m from the windows and 1.0 m from the doors. If basement and basement rooms are located nearby, the distance from the entrances to them is maintained at least 3 m. The tank must be protected from heating above 45 ° C and mechanical damage. To place the balloon use special cabinets.

The cylinder installed in the cabinet outside the room is connected to a steel pipe laid along the outer wall at a height of not lower than 2.2 m from the ground. Inside the building, a flexible hose is mounted to the pipe through a shut-off valve and fed directly to the stove. Gas stoves for bottled gas are installed at a distance of not less than 0.5 m from the vessel (with the exception of the built-in ones) and not closer than 1 m from heating devices. When equipping a protective screen made of non-combustible materials that protects against heat, an interval of 0.5 m is permissible. The volume of the room where the equipment is installed should be from 8 to 15 m 3 .

Device connection

The gas pressure in the cylinder may have different values. A certain pressure should be applied to the nozzles of the plate - 0.3 MPa. To reduce it upon receipt of a combustible mixture, a reducer is used. It has a left-hand thread and is screwed in only with an open-end wrench so as not to cause a spark. FUM tape, flax with paste, paronite gaskets are used as sealing materials . Gas stoves for bottled gas, when properly connected, should produce a uniform flame with a blue tint. The diameter of the nozzles in the nozzles of such equipment should be 0.89–0.93 mm.

For connection, it is strictly forbidden to use hoses that are not intended for use in the gas system - water, hydraulic, oxygen, etc. Fittings are also mounted only for gas use. They must have a conical seal and a landing mirror. Before buying a flexible hose, pay attention to the thread size at the entrance to the plate. You may need an adapter, usually it is included with the stove. Also consider the shape of the inlet pipe. It can be straight and angular. For a straight, a hose with a square at the end is required. The length of the connection is no more than 1.5 m. If a hose is used without connecting elements, a fitting is screwed onto the inlet using winding. It can be in a set of plates. In this case, the hose is connected to the fitting and to the outlet of the gearbox using clamps.

Portable gas stove

Mounted hose, reducer and connection points must be accessible for inspection. After installation, the connections are checked for leaks with soap foam. When opening the bottle, it should not bubble. If leaks occur, shut off the gas and replace the gaskets or tighten the clamps.

The portable gas stove is equipped with an insertable one-time collet cylinder. But some models have the ability to connect larger vessels with an adapter.

Do not install gas stoves for bottled gas in rooms with a cellar, underground and next to other rooms with a lower level. The propane-butane mixture is much heavier than air and tends to accumulate in unventilated enclosed areas. If a high concentration is reached and there is a spark or an open flame, an explosion may occur. Rules for installing equipment are informative. To install the devices, you must contact the specialists of gas services.
